Rhythm/Music -"Instrument" Suggestion

Hey,

I honestly dunno where to go to ask about this - and everyone in my class = never played video games other than WOW.... so I figured this is the best place to ask advice.

Let's start of by saying I ONLY have a ps2 and I'm a COMPLETE utter noob when it comes to this rhythm games (I only play DDR)

K - so last week I visited GameStop and I saw this game bundle - Taiko Drum Master for PS2 - Taiko Drum Master Playstation 2 - Taiko Drum Master PS2 Game for $39.99 and I thought - price is pretty cool and it may be fun playing with it with my brother...

Then it struck my mind that there is Rock Band and Guitar Hero... now I've been avoiding these simply because they cost a lot of money (or did when they first came out... no idea about the pricing now - currently I'm a jobless female - until the end of May - so that's always fun)

So now I'm getting all confused and fussed up because I am so behind when it comes to Rhythm games >...< Should I get Taiko? People said it's fun; yet it's not even known. Should I invest more money into the other games (given the prices still aren't insane)... and if so which one in the series should I get (I'm a noob - not sure which one would appeal in that case) - that's another confusing thing 'cause I've never played any of them and there is more than 1 game per series.

With DDR I just randomly got supernova and ended up buying all the other games 'cause I liked them. But you can use the same pad for all DDR games. Rock Band and Guitar Hero aren't exactly the same right?

K - you probably can tell my thoughts are all over the place... and I don't even know where to begin

Would appreciate any advice/feedback I could get

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Wow thanks for all the responses! The "click here" in your post Shin doesn't work... or maybe it's my computer not sure

Being a sucker for rare-ish games - I'm definitely gonna buy Taiko

In terms of games - Aerosmith is good + Guitar 1/2 and Rock Band - for variety's sake

So from all this I understand that it may be best to buy a possible Guitar Hero Bundle (with the guitars) since the guitars from the original company (work best) and can potentially work with Rock Band - if that's the case then I only need to buy the drum set for Rock Band.

Here comes the very stupid question... I wanna get this game for at least two people to play.... so looking at ebay and I see the original bundle: PS2 Rock Band Bundle Rockband Special Edition Game - eBay (item 110355436999 end time Mar-01-09 20:02:03 PST)

^Looks like a good deal when comparing - I understand it's got one guitar... how about the drum set? Is that for one or two people (sry if this question sounds completely retarded - I have NO idea whether drum sets are shared or how they even work).

Also I'm looking at the following link:
PS2 Guitar Hero Aerosmith 2-Pack LE Bundle BRAND NEW! - eBay (item 110355730114 end time Feb-24-09 12:19:36 PST)

These guitars come with the official bundle? Safe to say they work on other Guitar Heroes (older version) and they are semi-good?

Super sorry for my lengthy post (and probably stupid to many)- I'm actually very serious about purchasing these games and thanks for all the feedback

BTW how long are the wires for the wired guitars? Thanks

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Hehe thanks ^_____^

I just ordered
-The limited Edition of Aerosmith (with the 2 guitars), GH II, Rock Band and the RB Drum Set

USB mouse - easy to get... so I guess lastly - would any USB microphone work with Rock band?

BTW thanks a million for your help ^^

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Question - I got the entire set + game for Rock Band on the PS2 - I heard it's got no online... so if I ever buy a next gen console (probably a PS3) - I'm thinking I'd immediately buy Rock Band 2... but will I be missing out? 'Cause I'm not sure if any data from save files or online carry over.

Thanks

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
