I'll probably buy PS3 5 years after it comes out when the prices is down and there are enough good games out to justify that (still) high price.
I most likely won't buy the Wii. I'm not totally compelled to purchase it when I can still get an equally unique and great experience from my DS. Nintendo is still going to put out those quirky great games they're known for on both consoles and maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges but I feel that the DS has more to offer me than buying a Wii would. Wii may expand more into the 3rd party but DS has already proven and captured that market, perhaps more effectively and better than the Wii ever could (especially since the Wii is competing with the next gen graphics powerhouses with their own average specs). To me they're both gimmick (not in a bad sense) machines and I just like the gimmick the DS provides. Also it translates pretty well to conventional games, something Wii has yet to prove. I'm positive the Wii will be fun to play but I'm not willing to shell out $200 for that experience when I can probably mooch off relatives and friends with the machine. But who knows, I didn't think I'd get a Gamecube either and I did, albeit when it was at its $99 price point. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
