Depending on where you are in Los Angeles, Pasadena has the Norton Simon museum which is really nice. And best yet, free for students and pretty cheap ticket prices overall. There are also great resturants in the area (I would suggest Twin Palms Pasadena in Old Town) and it's right near the 134 so you can go furthur into LA if you wish.
Also the Huntington Library, California Science Center would all be great places to spend an afternoon. The Santa Monica Pier is too commericalized and always too crowded for romance. If you want to go to a beach, maybe Malibu (a drive on the Pacific Coast Highway) or even Redondo Beach Pier which is near a lot of secluded beaches towards the Palos Verdes side. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
