Alright, I checked my e-mail as usual and I got my weekly PC Club Promo e-mail. I glanced at the bottom and it congratulated me (unless there is another person in my small town with the same name) on winning their Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 contest. I haven't recieved an official e-mail from them or anything as of yet, but I figured I'd contact them tomorrow... well now on to the actual question...
I have a
MSI 865PE Neo3 Motherboard (designed for Pentium 4 Prescott) with LGA 775 support and I am currently using a
3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 processor with hyper threading.
I wanted to know if the
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 would work on my current motherboard since they are both LGA 775? I am assuming not since my motherboard wasn't configured to run with this newer processor.
If that is the case, then would this
MSI 775 DDR2 CONROE UATX Motherboard be a suitable replacement?
I built my computer over a year ago... I just wanted to double-check that I'd need a new motherboard to utilize this new CPU.
Thankupo
How ya doing, buddy?
