Another easy levelling/LP spot is in teh beginning of the forest. (dunno how to do the spoiler tag so i wont name anything in detail)

this spot is better than the rest because of the amount of gil u can get and the exp/LP you get

Begin by entering the forest from the plains, and right when u enter u get 3/4 panthers. then on the beginning of the left and right paths u get 2-3 each time. In total you have a minimum of 7 each time. Have one of your characters have a gambit set for steal, and the other characters attack like mad and heal. Make sure you stay in the beginning of the two bends. The right and left ones just before u can make out another path, further down are other monsters and youll break your chain. Make sure ur a pretty high level too, otherwise you get PWNT (at least 25/27) and your attacks are hitting 500/600.

Each panther gives you ~200 exp, and one LP, and you fight about 7-9 each time. Plus about 2 Coehlr(sp?) pelts each so you can rack in the money. They sell about 430 each.

To get all of them back, exit the forest to the plain. Go one screen down from the save point. Turn around and go back in, and there they are waiting for you. Keep doing this until you have 99 pelts.

p.s. after you get past 60/70 you start getting some quality pelts, not alot, but maybe one for every 5 or so you kill. Those sell for 700 each.

p.p.s I made over 53 thousand just farming the panthers. (~45000 from pelts, another ~ 8 from storm magicites they drop also

WHOO, long post but its worth it:biggrin:

i read in a few different walkthroughs that MQ combos dont work well against him, you need to have a party healer with esuna, and cura etc etc. And have ALOT of things to take away status effects, like alarm clocks and handkercheifs and the like. The combo's dont take too much off his health, at least when i tried it, i got about a 6 mq combo and only took a smidgen of red off lol, at that point he pulled that complete status effect damage garbage and everything went straight to hell.
ALso, be a decent level, i faced him on 25/26, im going to go back at level 33 and try then.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

i dont think thats a bug, if u notice when the button comes up next to someones name, it usually says something to the effect of "mist shuffle" or something like that, it is just an additional shuffle, and i found that if u press a button and nothing happens, press it again right away, and u get it immediately, i've gotten up to a 9 combo before (not that much but didsomething like 12000 damage)

i only finished off 10 marks and have 3 left, Gil Snapper, Ixtab, and Orthros, and im kinda nervous about going after them after the hellhounds in the jungle tore me a new one. I spent about 2 hours levelling up and LP-ing and those things murdered me, which makes no sense because i had two level 32 characters LOL

i got murdered, and no prob about that mist charge, i forgot what it was called exactly =\

go to nalbina and go south until u can enter the estersand then head to the right and u see two guards, talk to them and then go get a chocobo (it costs 800 gil) then ride the chocobo to the two guards and one wil get scared and run and the other will follow, then u can enter the estersand. And keep going north until u enter a place with a save crystal, and thats where you buy the amulets

Later on in the game, there are herbs you can pick up (I don't think they are herbs per se though), that are called Chronos Tears (sp?) and those cure slow. I have a question though. Where can we buy better gambits? Are all the gambits we can buy the ones in the store? Because i want the ones that allow for curing for poison, sap, etc etc. I can't seem to find those in the shops anywhere.

Did anyone else find this difficult? Also, I can't find the KO gambit. Did you guys find all these in dungeons and stuff?

i was reading on gameFAQs that there is this monster in the barheim passage that u can steal a deathbringer from. Anyone try it?

Yea this game is a blast man LOL, its unbelievably fun, i like it alot, now Vaan is at level 40, which isnt too great, but isnt too bad. And i did this sidequest in the caravan at the MH and it was to get exodus, HOLY SHIT, that guy is insane, one hit and my guys lost 1800 health, he destroyed me, do NOT do that unless u have seriously amazing armor.

So i followed what the walkthrough said to do, and i just got a deathbringer from some rare monster called an Ithuno. I'm hitting about 1700 every time with Vaan. I am seriously liking this.

Here's the link to the walkthrough:

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/f...xii_weapon.txt

Just ctrl+f, and put Deathbringer. Its pretty awesome, it's a +90 sword, and with some monsters it has an instant KO.

edit:: Sorry, it doesn't hyperlink. So just copy and paste the link into the address bar. =X

Edit x2 :: the loot is to sell to make Gil. Some have a function, like the Giant snakeskin. But mostly you sell it for cash. Also Gysahl Greens are to bring wayward chocobo to allow you to ride them.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I suggest trying to level up. Make sure your levels are at least lower/middle thirties. I'd say have them up to 32-36 before you even start it. Also you need to change up the weapons. Let one maybe use two handed. Let one have a shield. And let another have whatever. Its definately worth it, the shield HALVES ice damage. That is a HUGE bonus.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

If you explain how to do the spoiler tag, i'll help you out.

Also, different Grimoires go for different prices. They range from 19000 to 27000 Gil. And yea, they are for different types of monsters. I'm 86 hours into the game and I'm only at the Phon Coast. Vaan is level 42, Baltheir is 40, and Fran is 36. My next highest is Basch at level 33. I'm going to get Fran up to level 40 then I'm going to level up Basch and just switch them up. Good idea, or no?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The reason i took so long was because:

A) underlevelled
B) moneyhungry

I would just constantly farm werewolves and the panthers for loot. And I finished off about 20 of the marks. Level wise I'm still low, so that proves an issue. I don't really mind to tell the truth, I just don't want to go against a boss and have to have it last like 10 minutes or whatever. And then lose, too LOL. That happened three times already, so that really pisses me off and I end up not playing the rest of the day. Also, I heard on the way to Archades you have two boss fights without save points. So i want to be minimum level 45 for my 4 main characters (Penelo and Ashe are only level 12 LOL).

edit:: I also bought all the Grimoires and have highest available armor right now, thats why I'm so long into the game. Things get expensive, I'm sitting on ~250,000 Gil right now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I personally suggest the Jungle. You can get 12 panthers that average 250 exp each, and give 1 LP. If you have the Golden Amulets, you can make 24 LP (sometimes more with more panthers) and average 3000 EXP (sometimes more with more panthers). It is an amazing way to level up. You can make 3-4 levels in only a span of an hour. Not to mention the Coerhl (sp?) Pelts. Each of those sell for ~400 Gil. 99 times ~400 = A whole lot of Gil.

I spent so freakin' long trying to get to that pos.

That pot you bought, I read in a walkthrough that it helps you get either an esper, or a seriously strong weapon. I think the weapon was what it was, it started with an F. Just go to GameFAQs and look for the power-levelling guide or something like that.
