Ok, I'm pretty sure SSBB itself is pretty much the only selling point you need.
Yeah, you'd think that, but it's not. Even if they sell one million copies, they'd easily gain more than half that based on Sonic being on the cover alone.

Quote:
I can just imagine the thousands upon thousands of people who suddenly saw "Incoming New Challenger" with sonic's silhouette. Screams and orgasms abound. Why would the creator take that glorious moment away from us?
Because it's a marketing strategy? If it causes them to get more sales then they don't really give two shits about not tickling your inner nerd with a 'glorious special surprise moment'. They will do whatever it takes to sell more copies, regardless of one or two nerds screaming "SONIC'S SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE DAMMIT HOW DARE YOU NINTENDO >8(" on webforums. That's just how it works in this business. They're Nintendo.

You seriously need to work on your reading comprehension.
My bad. Sorry.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Because we're all marketing experts who know the target demographic with such certainty that we can conclusively proclaim that Sonic on the cover would increase sales by a factor of 50%.
There's no "expertise" involved here, it's just plainly fucking obvious. The demographic is gamers, so obviously, the more third party characters revealed, the more fans that will play it.

I think you may be overestimating Sonic's value as a selling-point considering the utter shittiness of the last, oh, every Sonic game since Sega stopped building hardware.
I know. I never said that he's a good character, just an extremely popular one. I personally hate Sonic with the burning intensity of the sun's core.

Quote:
It's also pretty delusional to assume that Nintendo will automatically do the "obvious" thing. NOT naming your console something that makes people laugh when they hear it seemed pretty obvious at one point.
Yeah, that's the thing. Nintendo will do whatever it takes to get more sales, I.E.; giving their console a "non-threatening" (oooooh...) name so it won't "threaten" their new retarded target demographic of soccer moms and 50 year old catholic priests, or in this case, deluded, idiotic furries who consider Sonic 2006 to be the greatest game of all time.

On that note, this is actually the first real 'game' for their console more than a year after it came out.

How ya doing, buddy?

And about the cover, I mean look at it, you got all your bases covered there. The solid characters everyone loves to see and a few of the new ones. I mean, the covers of the last two games where the same way.
When did it become a rule that characters you have to unlock are the ones that AREN'T featured on the cover art? Based on that logic, you have to unlock Ike, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Bowser, Yoshi, and Snake because they're not on this cover, which I've found a higher-res image of...

I'm pretty sure even the furries didn't like the new sonic game.
You're wrong, trust me. I know firsthand...

I'm fairly confident that Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers, and Metroid Prime 3 count as real games, dude. =/
All three of which look and feel almost exactly like their Gamecube counterparts. They may as well just be ports. (Yes, I've played and beaten Super Paper Mario, it's really not that exciting. It's just Paper Mario with its own dull take on an action RPG.)

Also, new stage and a moveset are up. Mario's moves have been altered?!? Whaddafuxup?!?

Well yeah, except that doesn't make any sense at all.
Oh come on, how can you NOT consider Mario Strikers Charged just a port with some new features? That's exactly how it felt to me.

First, that wasn't high-res.

Second, yeah, all of those characters listed have to be unlocked, just like in the last game, which according to you, isn't "exactly like [its] Gamecube counterpart," somehow.
I just said the image was higher-res than the one I posted in the last page.

I have to unlock Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Zelda and Bowser? Fuck that dick. Also, this game's a far cry from the ports that have been overstocking the Wii's library, it's running on a completely different engine, is slower-paced, has almost completely different mechanics and better graphics. What makes you say that?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Because it was a soccer game that was a sequel to a soccer game.
Wasn't much of a sequel to me. Much more like... a port?

I guess you consider Madden 2007 a port of Madden 2001 then, because it has Madden in the title and it's a football game.
Oh please. If you want to use a better example, why don't you look at the Fifa games? They prove my point exactly.

While that may be my point still stands.
Call of Duty 3 and Need for Speed Underground 2 on the Wii are real games, then. Real console sellers that make excellent use of the Wii's controls.

...No, they were just shitty ports. I consider them just worthless filler until the real games come out, by which I mean stuff exclusive to the Wii that's actually interesting and original, having a point and being uniquely interesting instead of just being a rehash/port of the same game or being a collection of stupid non-games where you grate cheese/fold laundry/roll a ball into a hole. Ugh.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

You know what, fuck it, I don't know how to describe what I'm thinking and I've derailed the thread too much.

I'm so sorry.

So... a triple music update, introducing another thing to collect. CDs.

I don't think any music will top that Star Fox one, but we'll see.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Best. Update. Ever.
Really?...

I don't see why, he even said some tracks will be ripped directly from the other games as they are and won't be arranged in the slightest.

Quote:
Just so you know, there may be songs from other games that are left as is, without any new arrangement.
I personally couldn't stand playing the game to one of the NSMB themes. There are many Nintendo songs that just don't lend themselves well to battles.

Nintendo better have a music/sound test or some kind of control panel for you to listen to the tracks.
Huh? Did you even READ this update?

If you saw the screenshots, you'd know there was a play button... you see? Look again, stupid.

I was speaking idiomatically.

He's referring to a game's complete collection on one menu, fucktard.
Oh yes, because one can't simply go into a particular stage's music screen and see them all already, as seen in this update? Thus necessitating the addition of a feature that would just do the exact, same, fucking, thing?

I reiterate; he can't read. And I'm getting sick of you stalking me, asshole.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
