I've seen some vids on Youtube of people fighting Gilgamesh in a few different places for weapons and armor. What's really cool is most of the weapons he has in his many hands are old FF swords (such as the Brotherhood [FF10], the Buster Sword [FF7], and the Gunblade [FF8]. I've heard he drops the Masamune, but does he also drop any of the FF swords? That would be really kool.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying I just thought it was cool to see him holding old FF swords.

I've been reading this thread almost daily the past 2 or 3 weeks, not posting, but reading what you guys have had to say about FF12. It seems not many of you like it, which somewhat dampens my high hopes for this game, but then again...people absolutely abhored FF7: DoC, while I really enjoyed it. If people hated THAT game so bad, then I guess FF12 won't suck for me. I've thoroughly enjoyed every FF so far, and I'm sure this one won't dissapoint me as it has you all.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

lol, I liked FF: DOC a lot myself too. ^^ Guess we're doomed to enjoy bad games. So while everyone else is playing FFXII and having a miserable time doing it, I guess we'll be the only ones enjoying ourselves, lol.
lol, guess you're right.

And as for FFX-2, I really enjoyed it. Maybe that's because I was younger back then (I was a seventh grader, now I'm a sophmore in highschool) and didn't really know how to gauge my expectations for games. But I went on to import the International+Last Mission version and enjoyed it even more with the English voice overs and added content, like the battle arena.

So I guess what I'm getting at, back on topic lol, is that it all comes down to taste. A majority of the people here seem to have hated DoC and X-2, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed...guess it's a sickness lol. But maybe I should look back earlier in this thread and take a look at all the good things that people said about FF12, I'm sure it will boost my excitement.

I'm at the Stilshrine of Miriam struggling with Mateus (the second Esper). It would be an easy enough battle were it not for her stupid ice elemental things that are immune to damage of any kind -_-

Now, my opinions of the game thus far. In one word: AMAZING! It's all I hoped it would be and more: fantastic dialogue, complex story, beautiful graphics, and, most of all, amazing voice actors. Marquis Ondore's voice is really the only one that bugs me...why the fudge does he sound Indo-British?

The battle system is wonderful. I played FFXI for probably three years so I fit right into FFXII's battles (since they are almost identical). I had trouble with the inverted camera at first, but I got used to it quickly. The sound quality of the voices in some of the cutscenes is a tad fuzzy on my craptastic TV in my room, but sounds great on our HDTV downstairs. I like the Liscense Board, I know, sorry lol. I've only done the tomatoe monster hunt, and I started the Thextra one...but got so wrapped up in the story that I just forgot about it for a while.

Hantei:
Spoiler:
Basche did not kill Reks, Gabranth (Bashe's twin brother who is a Judge when the real game starts) did. However, since they are twins, Basche was easily framed and was "sentenced to death" but never died. He is locked in a cage deep underground when the party meets for the first time.

I'm at the Draklor Laboratory in Archades trying to unlock the lift to the top floor...having trouble doing that, help would be appreciated

On a side note, Archades is very Star Wars-ish...in a good way

My main party is Vaan, Balthier, and Ashe (all of whom are level 45, everyone else is level 10 and 11 lol). Just curious, do I still have a long way to go in the game? Because I'm getting the sense that I'm reaching the climax...hope it's not a short game

P.S.~Anyone have the CG renders for the individual Judges, Vossler, Rasler, and Reks? Or just as many of those as you have? I want to use them for my sigs/wallpapers in Photoshop.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'm at the end of the game now, all I have to do is go to Sky Fortress Bahamut, but I've decided to go back and do all the stuff I haven't done yet (which is pretty much Mob Hunts, it'll level me up more and get me nice items/weapons/armors so it should be fun).

Spoiler:
I have to admit, I was a tad dissapointed with the story midway through. Had a great opening story that kind of died after I fought Bergan, then picked up again at the top of the Pharos at Ridorana (where Gabranth and Doctor Cid gave their shpiels, and Reddas, a.k.a. Judge Zecht, died for the party). That's not to say I haven't enjoyed every second of this game, it's truly great and beautiful, I just wish there was a bit more meat in the story sandwhich if you know what I mean (great opening, meh middle, [hopefully] great ending).

The Hunts I really want to do are the ones with Gilgamesh. Also want to fight Omega, Ultima, and that one black dragon that ambushes an airship you ride on. Guess I still got a long way to go *sigh*

PS ~ What happened to Zargabaath? I haven't seen him since Drace died, maybe he'll be a villian in Revenant Wings(?)

Ok, trying to fight the Lindwyrm mob in Tchita Uplands, but it only comes out in cloudy, not rainy, weather. But every time I zone in and out between the dotted blue line, it still stays nice and sunny, wtf?! lol. Should I just keep at it?

I'm in the Great Crystal (the area within Giruvegan). Just beat Ultima, my main party (Vaan, Ashe, and Balthier) are all level 77, so the fight was a breeze. But to the point, none of the treasure rooms along the way to Ultima (except for the Excalibur sword, which took my two backtracks to get) had any worthy treaure in them (only 2-4 gil!). No matter how many times I backtrack I can't get any good items. I read somewhere that the Stone Sword is here, but none of the treasure rooms are giving anything up...what's the deal? Keep in mind I JUST beat Ultima, so I haven't backtracked since then to see if beating her unlocked the treasures.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

About the FFIX reference in FFXII...
Spoiler:
The only reference I saw of FFIX in FFXII was Gilgamesh's Orichalum/Orichalcum replica (which is the dagger Zidane starts out with)

I'm going to copy/paste what I posted yesterday because its still a problem for me, and it was apparently overlooked by you all. This is only for those who know about the Great Crystal in Giruvegan, not sure I should spoiler tag this but whatever:

There are certain accessories with which you can get rare items from the chests. Maybe you should try it with one of these?
Ah, you mean the Golden Armlet? I've been looking for it in shops and stuff but can't find it, where can I find it?

How ya doing, buddy?

Ya, it's the Diamond Armlet, I looked it up at GameFAQs and it said I could buy it in the Dalmasca Estersands (but it's only available after you finish the Pharos at Ridorana).

Ok, so I found two more Diamond Armlets from the bombs in the Great Crystal, and equipped all three to my main party before I zoned into a treasure room (hoping it would triple my chance of getting a rare item). All of the treasure rooms have given me way more gil, but no weapons or armor, but I've marked them off on the GameFAQs map of the area as completed/done/got the big treasure/whatever, but there is the last treasure room (which I'm hoping has the Stone Sword in it)...its blocked by the 2nd Taurus Gate...and I can't seem to get to it.

Let me try and explain this dilemma...

I unlock the Virgo I and Libra II gates on my way to teleporter XVII, which leads to teleporter XVIII, beyond which lies a room with a save crystal that splits into three paths (straight ahead of the crystal room is the Esper Ultima's battle arena, to the right is teleporter XIX, and to the left is the Aquarius gate switch). I hit the Aquarius switch, run my ass back through teleporter XVIII and on past the Virgo I and Libra II gates. Past the Libra II gate is another forked area, I take the right path (its left on the map) which leads to the Aquarius I gate, which I unlock and run through that room to the Taurus gate switch. I run back through the Libra II gate and right from there to the Libra gate switch room, and right from there to teleporter XVI's room, and left from there to the Virgo gate switch room. Now, what's been happening is the Aquarius gate in the Virgo switch room has been locked, but I need to get past it to reach the Taurus II gate where the last treasure room is. I've tried going back and unlocking it, but then when I go back to flip the Taurus gate switch...some gate that I need to get past gets locked...and I'm very frustrated. Some one please help! lol. I tried to be as detailed as possible, you should look at the map (there's a link below this paragraph) while reading if that helps you, thanks in advance.

I finally got to the room in the Great Crystal where I thought the Stone Sword would be...but it turned out to be empty...no treasure box...no enemies...I'm dumbfounded...but the GameFAQs map said that it was a treasure room...and it hasn't been wrong yet...I'm confused...does anyone have any idea?

Yes, Zodiark is deep within the Henne Mines, but I wouldn't recommend going in there until you're at least level 85. I went there at level 80 and had trouble...the mobs are abundant and annoying.

There's a possibility that the treasure chest has a certain chance of appearing every time you enter the Great Crystal. Why not try zoning in and out of the Great Crystal and see if it appears? I had to do that to get the Demonsbane sword in King Raithwall's Tomb. It was quite annoying to run to the secret passage, find no chest (or the chest that was there had some other kind of treasure), and then run all the way back to the Way Stone to teleport out in order to teleport back in to reset the chests in the tomb.
Oh ok, I'll try that, thanks
