You shouldn't be having trouble with it, blue disc CD-ROM games don't make PS2's explode (even though sometimes it sounds like they will.. my PS2 made cool rumbling noises with the blue discs). Is the disc scratched? Any other of you AmeriCanada's had troubles with Contra? Maybe this is why they put the PAL version on a DVD-ROM. =o

Fun fact, a few days after I made my original post in this thread stating blue discs don't make PS2's explode, mine died because of one (but it didn't explode, so I'm still right). Made some freaky loud clicking, grinding noises and the game froze. No disc could be read after that, AND the controller couldn't be detected anymore. Double the awesome. Then again, it was a launch unit!

There's nowhere I can't reach.
