Jet Force would be pretty nice with a steady, non-nightmare frame rate for once~. I think the only Rare N64 game that'll appear on the VC will be the BIG SIGH game, Donkey Kong 64. Oh wait, and Diddy Kong Racing. Maybe?

I don't recall them saying that. They might have said something along the lines that if a game was released in a region that they would be getting that version of the game.
Australia and New Zealand's VC service has the TG-16 games completely removed because they weren't released here originally.

I was speaking idiomatically.

So. . . Earthbound? Kirby Super Star? EVER?
I think Nintendo's not so secret plan is to try and forget Earthbound ever existed.

"Gonna release 1+2 for GBA?"
"NAAAAAAW"
"How about translating 3?"
"NAAAAAAWWW"
"What about the Virtual Console that'd require no effort at all"
"NAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGGHH"
"Are you alright?"

Also where's Pilotwings 64 for crying out loud! I really do cry out loud trying to play that with my floppy penis N64 controller joystick, CAN'T TURN, CRASH INTO GROUND, BOUNCE AROUND HILARIOUSLY.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

olol. Apparently Australia and New Zealand FINALLY get access to TurboGrafx-16 games on the VC, starting July. I imagine they'll release one TG-16 game every two weeks, taking three billion years to catch up.

Might happen with some titles (Terranigma), who knows. Probably not because lol Nintendo, but hey. I mean, TG-16 games are going to start appearing on the Aussie/Kiwi VC service next month, despite the system never getting released all those years ago. But then, if Square couldn't be arsed translating Chrono Trigger for the SNES and AGAIN for the PSone, there's probably no hope of Europe ever getting it.

VC fails until it gets Pilotwings 64 anyway. :cool smiley:

I think the majority of PAL SNES games that didn't make it over to America were stinky sock downgraded football management sims and such. Also Super International Cricket.

AND TINTIN.

Oh ho!

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (NES version) and Mario's Super Picross have been rated by the Australian classification board, which means they'll be hitting our VC service soon (soon as in sometime in the next seven years). So I guess there you go. Japanese games are heading elsewhere.

Is Adventure Island supposed to be good?
It's okay (better on SMS as Wonderboy~), but kinda.. useless considering the VC already has the far superior New Adventure Island on TG-16.

That's pretty rad news, and ten bucks says even though it's been rated by the Aussie board first, America will get it months before us. Wait I don't have ten bucks! This and Pilotwings 64 (IF NINTENDO REMEMBERS IT EXISTS) will probably be the only two N64 games I'd get on the VC.

NeoGeo games headed to America's VC. First three titles are Fatal Fur-TERRY BOGARD, World Heroes and Art of Fighting. Terry Bogard's VC outing has also appeared on the OFLC.

Hay also.

For some reason Lost Levels is a limited time thing, it'll only be avaliable on the Shop 'til the end of this month, then it's gone. The other games will stay though. Also these are all more expensive than usual. Oh Nintendo.

And theeeeeeeen:
Now PC Engine CD-ROM games are confirmed for the VC. Moon text. Seems these will be the first two games in Japan.

Sin & Falcon Punchiment hit the PAL VC today, was anyone a bad enough dude to get it? I won't be able to pick up a points card until mid-next week. Also it's 1200 points.

It's especially lawl considering NoE didn't translate any of these, they're just straight up Japanese dumps. Not much of an issue for S&P since it already has an English dub, but jacking up the price for saaaay Mario's Super Picross, only to have the honour of being slapped in the face with mountains of Japanese text is dodgy.

WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Oct. 1, 2007

This is a special week on the Wii Shop Channel. Frankly, it's a gamer's dream come true: Nintendo is launching the new Import genre with the release of two games that previously have never been available in the Western Hemisphere on their original platforms. The first will be hugely popular with Mario™ fans, who will love reliving the style of his classic games as they encounter new skills, new levels and new dangers. Nintendo® 64 enthusiasts also get a masterpiece of the shooter genre and perhaps the best game never released outside of Japan. Welcome to Import Week for the Wii Shop Channel!

The two new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Super Mario Bros.™: The Lost Levels™ (NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Originally released in Japan as Super Mario Bros.® 2, this game has previously made only brief cameo appearances in the Western Hemisphere. Now available on the Virtual Console™ in all of its original splendor, Mario fans will appreciate the familiar look and feel of the game, while finding that its updated game play creates an entirely new challenge. No longer content just to wear different-colored overalls, Mario and Luigi also possess different skill sets: Mario can stop quicker, while Luigi can jump higher. In addition to the classic enemies already known to fans worldwide, there are also Poison Mushrooms, backward Warp Zones, and the occasional wind gust (which can help or hinder your progress) to take into account. And if that's somehow not enough, expert players can go looking for the game's secret worlds. So get ready to put your Mario skills to the ultimate test, and save the Princess again. Just don't be surprised if she's in another castle.

Sin & Punishment™ (Nintendo 64, 1-2 players, rated T for Teen – Blood, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, 1,200 Wii Points): Created by the legendary development studio Treasure, this is a game that hard-core gamers and fans of Japanese imports recognize as one of the finest Nintendo 64 titles to have never previously reached North American shores. Its unique combination of English voice-overs with Japanese subtitles (preserved in this version) has only added to the enthusiasm for its eventual release here. Experience the frenetic pace of a classic shooter, while choosing from a variety of options and a number of different skill levels until you are ready to take on the full-blown challenge of Turbo Hard mode. Not to be outdone by the action, however, the intriguing story line gives the game its soul and draws you even further into the mix. Set in the near future, on an overpopulated Earth starved for resources, players uncover the intriguing mystery of two teenagers (Saki and Airan) and their battle against the Ruffians as they advance through level after level of nonstop action. Take a deep breath, gather your energy and prepare to see why this game is so highly praised.

Well, NoE took Lost Levels down last night. =\ The rest are staying up, but LL was a one month only thing. I don't think NoA's that retarded though, it's not mentioned if any of these are limited releases anywhere in the PR.

Hmm, judging by the Mega Drive list being one huge 'yes', I think they mean the borders + slow music and stuff. The typical PAL crap. Lots of Nintendo and all of the TG-16 games on the VC have been altered to run in full screen with sped up music (to match the NTSC versions), despite them still being PAL. Sega are lazy, so all their VC games have the massive borders and stuff found on the original PAL Mega Drive.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Alien Soldier and Super Mario Borters 3? Too bad they're going up against 1989 GOTY Power Golf.

Are there that many people that don't already have SMB3 on NES, GBA, or SNES? It's a good game, sure, but it's not that hard to find.
I have it for NES, but my NES is a miserable pile of blinking screens. And the GBA and Mario All-Stars version lose their charm with their fancy Silicon Graphics and orchestrated music.
