Um, plain ol' list threads don't go down too well (they fail in the bedroom). But they also don't really encourage much discussion. You guys wanna add a bit of commentary to each game or something? Share some precious memories, Kodak moments, that sort of thing? Like for example, "SNES - Wayne's World. I got this with the system for Christmas one year, this game made me stop believing in Santa and I burnt the house down in a fit of rage." Thanks!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

NES: Flipped from America, the Master System was actually doing a lot better at the time. I got this for Christmas at '89, came bundled with three games. Dr. Mario, Shadowgate and Zelda. It took me a hell of a long time to actually get into Shadowgate, I used to keep dying at the dragon fireplace what what what part. "You used the sheild, but it's getting very hot in this room!" "You have suffered heat stroke and go home sick for the day, Game over". First game I bought (with Christmas money days later) was Super Mario Bros.

SNES: This was another bundle thing, except this time it was an official one. The Super Mario All-Stars one. It was really awesome playing through the games with sexy new graphics (there were actually backgrounds in Mario 3!) and finding out about Lost Levels. First non-bundled SNES game I got was Zool, which may.. seem odd.. I guess. But it was cheap! AND IT'S AWESOME. I was quite happy to keep dying on the first level, it was so much fun. The music is still pretty rockin'.

Game Boy: Got this duty free, saved a whopping five bucks or something. Blah blah, came with Tetris. I'm the only person in the world to have gotten this bundled with the system! First non-Tetris game was Mario Land. Fun game, I wish they continued making the Mario Land games. NSMB isn't the same.

Master System: One day my Dad returned home with this from a garage sale. I was so excited. My best friend just down the road had owned one for years, so I borrowed lots of his stuff for extended happy fun times at home. First game I actually bought was The Ninja. It's still my favorite console ever.

Mega Drive: Heeey, another bundle. This time with Sonic, Sonic 2 and Double Clutch. Man Double Clutch was such trash. Everytime you try to turn at a corner you fly into the wall and sort of get stuck there. Like the walls were made of sweet honey. THAT HAD GONE BITTER. BITTER HONEY. By the time I got this the Mega CD hype train was rolling in so excitement was everywhere. lololol Mega CD horse shit failiure.

Atari Lynx: Speaking of failures. My mum WON this in some bingo .. hamper thing. It was something like that. Came with a few games, the only important one being KLAX. And that was my first true love. First game I actually bought for the thing was Hard Drivin' years later. Terrible!

Nintendo 64: Totally serious business here, I didn't know the Saturn or PlayStation even existed till after the N64 was out. AFTER. Living in such a hilariously piss small town, there were only two stores that stocked video games, neither bothered with them (burned with supporting Mega CD and 3DO maybe). I just didn't know such machines were around. I only subscribed to a Nintendo magazine. So this was a GIGANTIC jump for me. First game I got was Mario Kart 64, which remains my favorite from the series.

Saturn: Picked this up real cheap during its final death kicks, the same store was literally giving away games. I purchased Daytona USA and Baku Baku with it, they gave me another handful of random games for nothing (Panzer Dragoon, Worldwide Soccer 97, Cyberia, Hang-On GP and GUARDIAN HEROES). I was fucking over the moon. Especially after finding out just how great Guardian Heroes was. Cyberia's cancer, though.

PlayStation 2: I don't know why I bought the system when I knew I wouldn't be able to get a game for weeks, but hey. I did eventually get SSX after enjoying the timed demo that came with the system so much OVER AND OVER.

GameCube: Pretty much bought this just for Smash Bros. Melee. Worth it for just that, really. Me and a mate stayed up like two straight days playing this on and off. *nerds*

DS: Bought this on launch with Mario 64 DS, Wario Ware and the almighty Zoo Keeper. I ignored everything for huge sessions of creepy zoo lovin'. AND I STILL PLAY IT NEARLY EVERYDAY.

Dreamcast: Better late than never! First game I got was the COMPLETELY AWESOME Rush 2049. I was surprised how good it looked, too. Like, better than Midway's PS2 efforts. Efforts as in poo. Kind of a pity the system did so badly here though, I can't find many games for it and I can't be arsed to download them.

I've probably forgotten a few machines. Maybe I'll remember days later, while in the shower!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Oh yes! Out of the games that came with it (DOA Ultimate, Volleyball, Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon and Brute Force).. first one I played was DOA Volleyball. I was curious. ;_; I STILL haven't played Brute Force. Maybe one day. The blurb on the back of the box makes me sleepy.

Wasn't Zool that game by Gremlin with the wicked eXtreme ninja thing?
Yep! It was also littered with Chupa Chups advertising! Don't worry that you're on a weird alien planet, they still have delicious lollypops!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
