im pretty excited

Im only lvl 50 though... and havnt touched RotZ or CoP yet My shadowlord battle is coming up though...

SE is planning on rebalancing, and adding quite a bit it sounds, to all the jobs... Thf and Drk could both use the boosts as far as party situations go

Nin nerf and Blk nerf? Thats not really what I heard...

There going to be giving most jobs a boost... but Nin wont be recieveing one... as for BLK, I ehard they will try an intice blks into more standard parties with certain spells and abilities. They did not plan on Manaburn aprties, but it is creative, and they dont want to punish the fans for it.

Thats what I heard at least.

heh, Im only at 25 on bard, but I've noticed how repetative it is as well. However, since im used to DD, the quick invites is a welcome excahngem even with the cost of bland repetative play. Still don't quite have the distance of diff instraments down yet.

Ya they have, you dont loose exp for participating, and if they win, they gain control of the item. In order to get it back, you must raid there homeland area.

2 weeks? well... maybe with a really really good static that played nonstop. Still sounds more than a bit ridiculous to me though. They'd have to be ugprading their items alot, and would have to have alot of money on hand too... This sounds impossible to me.

You earn some sort of rank points or something for completeing it... but SE was pretty vague and I believe they stated they weren't quite sure what the reward handouts would be yet...

Assault also sounded like it was instanced if I remember correctly.

Ive heard recovery date for characters was actually a year if you didn't cancel your POL account(not the ffxi pay account, but the free POL account).

everything is roughly the same in price in relation to each other as their beta server, so the inflation is fairly irellavent. The only difference is now, vendor items are cheap as shit, as they don't inflate. Since I'm playing BRD right now, and i buy most my scrolls form vendors, its actually good for me :P

Its a huge game though... not sure how much MB is downloaded, but the game use up several gig.

Ya, there are some people who play on 56k, they report updates as a pain in the ass, but seem to play the game ok.

Ive been too busy with school to play since the exp came out... anyone play in a pt with the new jobs? What are your impressions so far?

FFXi was spost to hold me over til wow... So i'd of been one of them... til it deviated completely from the conceptual work they showed us, and thus greatly disapointed me .

If you played the xbox beta, they had a transfer to an existing server... on rare occasion they allow server migration from one server to a less populate one(There was one about a year ago).

Generally speaking, no, once you create a character they are stuck on that server. Before you make a character though, you can recieve a world pass to start on a specific server.

buy stuff from npcs when you can, and sell everything on the AH The games been around for quite some time, and inflation just rises... so~

Potions in FFXI are pretty lame imo. Early on, you can make plenty of income by just selling crystals on the AH.

Subbing mage-jobs while a Melee-based job can be very beneficial for solo-ing... but it is almost always a no-no as far as partying goes. If you want to solo with a mage sub with your warrior, I'd suggest either whm or rdm. Don't sub blk, your magic will be too low to do any decent damage, and since black magic costs more mp, you won't have enough mp to cast much of anything.

As a warrior, in attempt to joni parties, the best subs for a new player would either be Monk or Theif... and generally Monk is preferred as it offers more Vit (defense) and more HP. Both great as people will want you to tank on occasion.

What weapon are you using? If you havn't yet, I'd highly suggest investing in a Great Axe. They are a warriors best weapon. At first your damage will be a bit weak, but once your skil lrises in it, you'll do more damage with A great Axe than any other, and your accuracy will slightly improve as well. In the low levels, with a Great Axe, a warrior can easily one-shot alot of easy preys .

However, you do NOT need a credit card. The other option is to go to a bank, and buy a prepaid credit card. You load money onto it like a gift card, but it works anywhere a credit card does, including on FFXI.

Technically, they are optional. Zilart is pretty much required due to some of its areas considered as the "only" place to level at that time. Each expansion adds new areas, quests, enemies, items, and missions. Zilart and Aht Urgahn also added 3 new jobs each. It appears, that late game, Aht Urgahn is quickly becoming required as well.

concerning rdm, id say half lvl whm only spells are much more helpful than half level blm only spells... /blm id say is more for the +elemental spell trait

I think im only around 2700 on benchmark, and ive been running fine since the game came out

ffxi is a bit different from wow. The difficulty really turns some people off, although really, it isnt that hard. Wow's just incredibly easy. Alot of people just like the grind and getting new and better weapons, but if your into storylines and cutscenes, you'll find FFXI missions and quests an enjoyable change from wow
