I liked the Sixers draft a lot. Thaddeus Young has top 5 upside in the entire draft, and we got Jason Smith and Byars too.
The Sixers won't be good next season, but I don't want them to be. We don't have any shot at a championship for 5 years, and we are slowly putting together a lot of young pieces with high potential, so we can be a contender down the road. IMO the Celtics made a terrible deal. Ray Allen is going to improve them in the short term, but not enough to win even the east. They could've had a young big man to build around like Yi or even Green/Brewer to play the 3. The Sixers made the same mistake in the past of fooling themselves that they could win a championship and trading for guys like Webber and Glenn Robinson. The Celtics aren't going to win a championship now no matter what they do. So why trade away the #5 pick? Because Pierce demanded a veteran? Fuck Pierce. Trade him, they haven't won anything with him anyway. He's overrated. I'm glad they did it though because I hate Boston. Jam it back in, in the dark.
