If memory serves me correctly, the 915 chip sets were the first 775 sockets.. either that or the late 478's *checks the net*, looks like 775.
Luckily still lots of motherboards around that support that. Chipset wise you can go with either Nvidia: 680i 650i's Nvidia chipsets support SLI, although I wouldn't be too concerned with picking up a board that can do that. The 680i's are high end, 650i more mainstream. Intel Chipsets: 965 975x P35 X38 X48 Intel chipsets support Crossfire, once again though I wouldn't worry about that 975x, x38 and x48 are the high end chips, 965 and P35 considered the mainstream. 965 and 975 are the older sets. Stick with the good brands.. DFI (mostly enthusiast) Asus (All across the price spectrum) Gigabyte (Mostly OC enthusiast , but they have a few lower end boards that are rock solid, I run a GA-P35-DS3L myself) EVGA (Nvidia chips) Foxconn, Abit, Chaintech etc.. are also other known motherboard brands. My only concern is your RAM. If you can, post some more info on that. You also have to be careful with how many IDE bus's come on the board.. a lot now only come with 1, which would be an issue for you, as you have Two IDE harddrives (one bus right there), and IDE DVD/CD Rom drives.
