Back from a SOTW hiatus, I don't know why, but I just haven't been summoning to energy to do much of anything outside of work as of late. Here is hoping this will turn that around. I also wanted to point out that everything except the top three sounded remarkable similar to me. Not that they were entirely bad, it’s just that none of them really stood out.
3 Points - Fighter's History Dynamite ~ Flying Power Disc - Data East ~ Gamadelic - DYNAMITE (from Fighter's History Dynamite) (Arrange Version begins) I really liked this upbeat track, which manages to stay relatively interesting the entire length of the track. The rap/synth vocals were also a nice touch and really give the piece a unique flavor. Overall, this is a cut above the rest. 2 Point - The New Tetris (Game Rip) - Dvie This is a really short Russian style melody repeating over 2:30. None the less, what is here is quite funky and easy to listen to. It does its job as background music for a puzzle game admirably. Now if someone were to take this melody and elaborate on it, the result would be a really cool track. 1 Point - Discworld Noir (Game Rip) - When You Met Her Normally I would just brush this one aside, but when you consider that everything else is too generic for its own good this is the result. The song is quite pathetic but it sounds like it was written that way. It got a laugh out of me at least, which is always worth something. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
