3 Points - Genso Suikoden III Original Soundtrack - Complex Thoughts
One of my favorites from this album, that I never really began to appreciate until I gave it a chance an listened to in its entirety. What really drew me to this track was how well the percussion was used to support and build the melody. I have a thing for tracks that integrate a drum loop and xylophone so fluidly, so the second half of the track (starting at 1:40) is nothing but awesome. Another reason I nominated this was that I felt it was extremely developed, featuring little to no melodic repetition thought. 2 Points - Age of Mythology Original Soundtrack - Chocolate Outline A light track that makes good use of various percussive instruments to support the gorgeous guitar melody. It’s good to hear more original VGM from western composers represented in SoTW. This would have taken the top spot, but I needed to support my nomination. 1 Point - Koudelka - Kiss Twice I liked the diversity of the percussion, and the melodic development was decent, if a bit repetitive. Regardless, this was quite enjoyable. And my nomination for next week is the same as the one I had submitted just before percussion week kicked in.
