Don't waste your time. Seriously. The man might possess some amusing insights, but he's an antisocial recluse and every single interview he's ever had, save for one by The New Yorker, has denegrated into a bilous rant against every petty thing he's ever perceived as a deep, personal slight against his existence on Earth. He is disrespectful to his peers in the cartoon industry, he is rude to journalists, he has an irrational axe to grind against the establishment in general and even those who knew him before Calvin & Hobbes took off say that he was never a nice guy.
Your "nice" chat would end in an abrupt disconnection as Watterson walks away with several cutting remarks against you and everyone you ever loved. He's done it to many.
