You've now formed within me a disassociative gap between playing cards and ethereal phantoms of possibilities that never came into being. At the merest suggestion of euchre or rummy, I enter a deep fugue, only to emerge several minutes later, disoriented and mistrustful of the world around me. Nothing makes sense.
