Arc the Lad Original Game Sound Track - Kukuru: The style and tone reminds me of the opening theme to "Entertainment Tonight". That's not meant as an insult, it's just an observation. It bothers me that this is the kind of guitar some would call "generic" because I always think of it as "warm" and "inviting". The supporting elements were pretty sharp as well. In summary, I enjoyed this track quite a bit.

HEADHUNTER REDEMPTION HEADHUNTER Original Soundtrack Recording - Ramirez At Bay: The ubiquitous military-themed track. This one has the benefit of building upon itself in a pleasing manner, though I enjoyed the first half more than the darker-toned second half. However, the overall arrangement is impressive, even if it's not my thing, and I'll give it a deserved tip-o'-the-hat for that.

Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (NES Game Rip) - BGM 02: A very competent little chiptune. It's so difficult to evaluate chiptunes and dramatic scores like the HEADHUNTER track on an even scale because they're musical apples and oranges. But I think this one could stand head-to-head with most of the modernized nominations. A keeper, for sure.

Mars Matrix & Giga Wing 2 Original Soundtrack - Ark: A track that is too dramatic, overwrought and monotonous to have any resonance with me.

MELTY BLOOD Act Cadenza Ver.B BGM Collection - for Crimson Air (Night of Wallachia Stage): Meltyblood has some good stuff and there's a particular track that I've been considering for nomination myself. I've known about this track for a while and it's only okay for me. I think it suffers from identity crisis; the jazz-funk piano disco sections are highly enjoyable but the other parts grate on me. If there was more variation between each aspect, I'd like this more.

METAL BLACK -The First- - Time: Although there's nothing explicitly wrong with this piece, I couldn't easily get into it. I guess it lacked a distinctive quality that would've grabbed my attention. This bums me out as it was a "Yack" composition and I had high hopes.

Moshimo Ashita ga Hare Naraba Extra Soundtrack - Examination of Moonlight: Odd. Even though I usually enjoy airy compositions, this one didn't work for me. My main criticism would be that it felt too mundane, almost meaningless in its existence. As filler music goes, it's okay but it doesn't stand out well against this week's competition. I do like the name, however.

R-Type Delta Original Sound Trax - Stage 4 (Corrosion): This was okay until it went into "Attention Deficit Mode" with the frenetic techno samples at 2:54. Anything that this track was building toward was instantly wiped clean by the brutal onslaught of raver diarrhea.

Let's disperse some numbers. I liked three of these tracks a lot, so we'll make it a clean split.

2 Points: Arc the Lad Original Game Sound Track - Kukuru
2 Points: HEADHUNTER REDEMPTION HEADHUNTER Original Soundtrack Recording - Ramirez At Bay
2 Points: Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (NES Game Rip) - BGM 02

This was an average week. Hits, misses and a couple in-betweeners.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Was Ramirez Zephyrin's nomination?

I know Jackie Chan was Ed Bellis' pick, so well done there. I think this was Ed's first nomination, so things bode well for him. A few more solid picks from Ed might cause _DH_ and I to feel threatened.

(I also like how Chuckster and I picked the eventual winners. Chuckster had more accuracy, though.)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'm pretty sure "Moon Over Castle" has been featured several times in the BSC, in various incarnations; the main melody is still identical.

It's also pretty well-known, so I'm gonna say that it wouldn't meet the obscurity requirements either.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
