Well, my top #1 film that I never tire of is easily Dune. There are so few well-done fantasy films (the LotR films only came out recently, and are too long for me to watch repeatedly although I do enjoy them) that Dune is kind of like a diamond in the rough to me. The sets and effects are so well done in kind of a "future past" way that the film will never seem "dated" to me - it occurs in its own time, outside of our technology and cultural musings. I appreciate the fact that there is a narrated intro; in this case it really gives weight to the film's whole introductory set-up.
Many people do not appreciate this film, or think that because it has Sting in it the film is too "campy." Although the film has a solid story (based off Frank Herbert's book), for me the film creates a strong mood, an atmosphere, that is totally unlike any other film made. Because of this, I can watch it over and over again, and it never gets old.
