Great music though and it did give the GBA something it needed: A good original "traditional" RPG.

+1 - this is dead-on. I supposed if you didn't have any other consoles, it would be a great game compared to other GBA/GB rpg's, but for me there was no reason to play it instead of Shadow Hearts, Dragon Quest VIII, BoF V, etc. Still, it had a certain charm to it, but based on its simple gameplay I would say this is a necessity and not a bonus...
