I 2nd the notion that UT2k4 isn't like UT99. It is still great and fun, but does not have the same flavor at all imho. I also 2nd the nod to the great music. I always remember the "intro" with the speech that would stutter (back when I had my 32MB of RAM Gateway Pentium 200mmx lol...)
Stock, UT99 is fast-paced fragging fun. Modded, it's really anything you want it to be. UT2k4 just never was able to be "zany" enough, as it took itself far too seriously. The Bender model/skin and voicepak = endless fun.  Also, Monster Hunt adds serious chaos to any game type, and of course there is UT4E the ultimate mod...Jam it back in, in the dark.
