I usually spend some time grinding before a boss if the "normal" mobs of the area seem difficult.

2) Do you level your guys up so they can fight the boss on more “equal” footing, but still have some difficulty?
I don't pick up very well on boss/enemy "weaknesses" such as weakness to fire, or water, or the sword of what's-his-face, etc. I usually manage to still squeak through on a boss fight though.

3) Do you level only certain party members in which ever RPG you might be playing, or do you go the full nine yards and get everyone maxed out?
I level everyone I have to use, but no one else.

4) What RPG do you recall has having the longest time spent on pure leveling up? Alright, running to the local town to restock supplies you can count, as long as it’s mainly just raising the level of your characters?
I like to explore, so I usually don't have to level up outside of my far-reaching travels. I guess when I played DW1 on emus I spent a lot of time just levelling up because there wasn't that much to explore.

5) Do you normally level up in every RPG you play? By that - ie grinding like an over-worked bitchy mom.
No - I recently beat Shadow Hearts and never really grinded until the end because I read in the FAQ that I should be at a certain level for the boss...

Also, do you find leveling up absolutely necessary for most RPGs that you play?
Most modern-day RPG's that I have played, and I'll admit I'm not as widely played as most, seem to do a good job of ballancing story/events and levelling.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
