Just wondering if anyone has purchased the two year extended service contract? Trying to gauge whether I should pony up the $60...

Looking at Team XBOX, it seems many bitch that the console seems to break down out of nowhere! Oh well, will look into it at least.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I bought the X360 just over a month ago, though my TV doesn't even have a HDMI port so I can't say I care, but might if the console is overpriced still in a few years when I get my next TV...

That said, as long as the HDD is no more than about $100 or so with the 20GB model getting a price drop, I'll deal with it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

They may say they include it, but I believe that warranty only covers the "original retail purchaser", which is definitely not you, if you buy it on eBay.
How's MS going to know however, when the serial number hasn't been touched by anyone else? People are able to get support from MS regardless from what I have seen people writing online. Especially, if they pay for it, but still...

AFAIK, the 1 year extended warranty is for everyone, whether they bought it new from Amazon or Ebay. The only thing I would suppose would keep one from getting it is if the console is purchased used. Not all Ebay sellers are selling it used though.

I was watching NBC news last night and there was a segment about the X360 issues. Seems like MS has finally owned up and acknowledged the issues and mentioned the warranty was yet again upped, this time to time to 3 years and they will exchange one's console for a new one...

A start, I guess! Especially if MS stop screwing people over by sending refurbs that are still buggered. I am kind of hoping they keep on screwing up until they are forced to upgrade everyone to an Elite. But, I am hearing from at least one person that his drive has already failed so maybe it's time for MS to do a complete re-haul of the console, you know, what it should have been from the start, if MS hadn't rushed to cream their pants and beat Sony to the market.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
