NHL Playoff Contest Idea
Hey guys,
I got an idea.... actually, its stolen from another forum but I think it would be a lot of fun on GFF as well. There seems to be a lot of people who enjoy the NHL on here, so I was thinking of organizing a NHL Playoffs contest. SIGN UPS ARE CLOSED Anyway, I thought this would be something fun to do since many people missed out on the Hockey Fantasy League. This contest is fairly simple to play. When the playoffs start, there are 16 teams. You are to pick who will win the series, and the games it took to win. For example, if Ottawa was playing Toronto, you would bet that Ottawa would win in 6 games (4-2). If you guess the correct team, you will receive 2 points and if you get the correct amount of games, you get 1 point. You pick the winner of each match up, so a total of 8 matchups for round one, and so on. For the finals, you will do the same as the last rounds, but guess how many goals will be scored during the entire series. That will be the tie breaker. If you are interested, please reply in this thread. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, let me know. When the round is done, I will post the matchups for your information. PM all picks to me, do NOT post them in the thread. If you have any questions, let me know ASAP. Yeah, well, I thought I would mention it now... since I remembered it. Knowing me, I forget things later, especially when I get busy. At least people can take a look at the standings at this point.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Ok, since the playoffs are about a month away, I will put together a list of the people who want to be in the contest.
Please see my first post as it will be consistently updated as people join in. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
The last day to join in on the NHL Playoff Contest is Sat Apr 7, 2007 by 11:59pm CST (12:59 EST)
Please PM me your picks between Sunday after the season is over, to the day of the first round of games for the playoffs. I will have specific times and dates as we get closer to the end of the season. I will post at the beginning of the thread the match ups of the teams playing against each other when they become available. I hope more people will join over the next three or so weeks. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Ok, well, there are about 8 hours left until sign ups close and about 24 hours for the remaining people that have not sent in their picks. Anyone who has sent them in already has not received a warning that they need to be in, so if you had, you should be set to go.
I will start a discussion thread when picks are closed. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Nope, I got them. I guess I had miscounted your name. Sorry about that.
