 Romantic, mysterious and with the right mix of strings, jazz and cheesy synth. Only had the score a few days, but it's already up there with The Lion in Winter, King Kong and Raise the Titanic as one of my favourite John Barry scores.  Kinda reminiscent of Braveheart and, aside from the bird calls (a welcome surprise and a nice gimmick), it's really nothing new from Horner. But there's something about it that really clicked with me when I first heard it so, when I had the chance to get it cheap (for a new CD), I snapped it up. A really good score from Horner. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
