We normally MP3Gain the tracks so that they're on even grounds during the voting session. However, if I recall, we gain at something like 95% of the limit, which shouldn't be that quiet. I never seem to have problems with the volume level of these tracks in iTunes (and I play them mixed with tracks from many other sources constantly). What media player do you typically use?
