Sounds like a serious shitload of fun, especially in multiplayer Even better, we're getting it at launch here in Europe, though I prolly won't buy it yet.

I plan on doing the same, seeing how I never owned a Gamecube and missed out on a lot of great games. Killer 7, Resident Evil 4 and the Metroid Primes are at the top of my list

Turns out Europe gets Classic Controller support for playing Gamecube games instead of requiring an actual GC controller:

"As with the Virtual Console, you can either play your 'Cube games using your old GameCube controller, shoved into the Wii via the ports hidden under the top flap, or - if you're a style-minded 'Cube newbie - Nintendo's shiny white Classic Controller (sold separately, obviously) does the job equally admirably."

Wii Play in all its glory. I'll do a proper write up of this soon, it's pretty fun for what was basically a $4.00 game!

I've also turned into a consumer whore and gotten a VC Points Card. Haven't downloaded anything though. The Aussie line-up is a tad better than IGN had reported. No TG-16 (FUCK YOU NINTENDO), but Donkey Kong Country and F-Zero are up on it!

The system itself spazzed out in a massive way like half an hour after I set it up. Freaked me out. The controller stopped responding, it wouldn't even sync up. The controller that came with Wii Play wouldn't respond either. Then the console made noises and wouldn't turn off, so I unplugged it and let it sit there for a bit. Now it's fine!

No free copy of GT Pro, they had none in stock. Apparently they'll mail me a copy when they get it. I bet I'll have to yell at them. I think there's massive problems with supplies of third party games in general, I snagged the ONLY copy of Monkey Ball at Myer. Saved a PISS LOAD (that's right, an entire load of piss!) of money on the games and paid half price for a second nunchuck.

You lucky, LUCKY BASTARD. I won't be seeing my Wii for at least another two weeks (at which time I'll have the necessary cash, but availability is another factor). Not to mention I won't be able to get Wii Play until the next month.

Also, DKC on the Virtual Console? Isn't that a Rare game? Or can Nintendo put it there since DK is a Nintendo trademark?

Well, the Wii is officially sold out EVERY FUCKING WHERE. I did manage to squeeze in a reservation at Dixons, but it's doubtful I'll get it in 2 weeks, much less before the end of the year.

Oh well. This is one thing that's most fucking definitely worth waiting for.

I did see a Wii (non-playable) at Gamecity; the image quality isn't too shabby through composite cable as far as I could tell, but my sweet deity, that thing is TINY.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Indeed, seems like a neat game, but IGN's previews have me a bit skeptical. The controls still need a bit of finetuning it seems.

As for Wing Island, Power Unlimited (Dutch gaming magazine) already reviewed it and gave it a 5.0, saying the controls are fun but the game is way too short and not challenging enough. Still, waiting to see what others think about it.

Yes! YES! OMG, YES!!! Coming home today my dad tells me Dixons called to tell me my Wii was ready to be picked up. So tomorrow I'm racing straight over there to grab it

Well, I went to Dixons at 10:00 this morning, picked it up, then went to look around for some other stuff I wanted, and finally made my way home with my Wii, Zelda TP, Wii Play + remote, Nunchuk, AND Classic Controller. SCORE!

I've been playing around with the games and the channels all day since then and I FUCKING LOVE THIS THING. Period.

Well this is bizarre. Yesterday my friend came over and we played Wii Play together, only to find out the second remote's battery was nearly drained while I had barely even touched it over the past 2 weeks After about 30 minutes of playing it gave up the ghost.

And today, my primary remote shows 1 bar of battery power left whereas yesterday it was still up to 3. What the heck is going on here?

When are those rechargeable battery packs coming??

Ah, finally some news! I'd noticed they were working on an IM remake on IGN, but so far they didn't have any news. Screenshots look decent enough, let's hope they don't botch up the game. The multiple playable characters doesn't seem too appealing after the bad things I've heard about IM2025.

Meanwhile tho, both my remotes have their batteries drained, and I don't have any replacements or money to get some. Sigh.

EDIT: Scratch that, my dad still had a whole bunch lying around Though it's just a question of how long these are gonna last...

EDIT2: Finally played some more Zelda TP tonight. This game's fucking HUGE. Everytime I think I'm finally nearing the end I get sent on another quest.

Finally finished Twilight Princess a few minutes ago. A fantastic ending to a fantastic game.
