I used to have that problem when I was younger, too. For whatever reason, the "who shot Mr. Burns" episode of the Simpsons freaked the hell out of me and I was afraid of... I'm not exactly sure what about it, but I felt that if I was completely under my covers, I was safe from harm. I still kind of have a fear of things grabbing at my feet, though. I flip out when people touch my feet.
