If you're looking for a career, is isn't going to be easy with only a high school diploma to your name. I would heartily recommend college, and since you don't know what you want to do in life, clear out all the general education classes in the first couple semesters. By the time you get to a point where you need to choose a major, your interests in classes should be a good enough hint where to start.
Other things to that note. College counselors can be a big help if you need some direction in your life, and can help identify what jobs you might be interested in. Most colleges also have job boards so you can keep easy track of what employment is in the area. Even if it's something as simple as painting houses or lawn care, it's money in the pocket and experience under the belt.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
