Soundcard stops functioning on me and my two Cd/Dvd drives are not repsonding either.

When you say that your soundcard looks like it was uninstalled, do you mean that it isn't listed in the device manager? Is it listed but not putting out sound? Try uninstalling the card, then run the add hardware wizard to detect and install it again. Check your sound card manufacturers website and see if others are having the same problems once they install these latest drivers.

As for your CD drives, do they not work at all? Do they open and close but not play music or games?

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling them through the device manager. Since you opened up the computer to check on your sound card, you didn't happen to notice if any cables to your CD drives were loose? It might be best to shut the computer down and reseat them all just to make certain.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
