Depending on how many other programs you have running, 512MB of RAM may be too little for it to boot and operate quickly. If you open task manager, check out how many processes are running and how much memory you have free. Some simple deduction will tell if the computer is struggling or not to get up and running when turned on.
As for your issue with Zone Alarm, try undoing the changes you made to see if that makes it load properly. If it doesn't, reinstalling it should take care of things. Jam it back in, in the dark.  |
