I shall quote a friend of mine, in reference to working on cars:
Just do a little reading and have at it. It's best to try it, mess something up, and learn where you went wrong. You learn from your mistakes and chances are you won't make that mistake again. Basically get the deck in there, which may involve buying some aftermarket plates and whatnot to make it look like a clean install. Next find where you want the amp and subs and wire them in. Adjust some settings, and away you go.
