ID: TheMason
Rank: Gunnery Sergeant
Kits: All, but most-played are Sniper, Anti-tank, and Spec-Ops. (Engineer, Support and Medic more lately, though.)
I generally use TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, haven't even touched X-Fire yet. When on Ventrilo, I'm usually on my friend's server, and usually in a game somewhere with him.

Stats from BF2S.com and
stats from BF2player.com

I generally play on weekends, but likely, any time after 6 PM MST I'll be on.

I could possibly set my computer up as a BF2 server at least during the day, 9-6 MST Monday-Friday ... but those are kind of limited hours. Being relatively new to this whole server thing, would I be able to PLAY BF2 while running the dedicated serverness? If so, I could leave it up 24/7. :P It's not too bad of a machine. Dual-core processor, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, etc... *shrug* Whaddaya think?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Considering how much it helped me to upgrade from 1GB of RAM to 2GB of RAM, even with the good video card I have, I would say this will make a huge difference.

How ya doing, buddy?

Expansion was worth it, I thought - but only because I wanted more levels and guns. Realistically it's not worth it.

Most servers won't kick you if your ping is below 200, some are picky and you need to be below 150 or even 100.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Depends on what you mean by "decent gaming PC" ... I'd recommend at least a gig of RAM, 256MB video card (BF2 runs fairly well on my ATI Radeon X800 when my computer has 3 gigs of RAM, but it would run flawlessly at highest detail if I could ever get my X1900XT installed) and a good processor, Pentium 4 w/HT or AMD Athlon 64 should do it. Your video card practically HAS to be an ATI or nVidia card, though. Despite having 256MB card before, it was some wack integrated Intel shizzit, and BF2 just wouldn't support it.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Appreciated. I DO have Euro Force and Armored Fury, so those could be added in, and to make things simple, under my kits, I'd just put All, since overall I play each kit relatively equally.

Normally I'd do this editing myself, but the GFWiki page gives no legible clue on how to sign up... something about a "form below" which form is not present, unless it just doesn't show up on IE7.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I dunno, I liked the new weapons and maps in Euro Force. Armored Fury was a bit more of a disappointment than Euro Force though.

Worth $10 each... yeah, I'd actually have to say they are. But that's just one opinion.

How ya doing, buddy?

Wake 2007 got boring to me really quick as well, but then I realized, if you've got a decent squad and some real communication going on, you can take that island by storm all by yourselves while everyone else is sitting around going insane trying to hunt each other down in tanks and zippy little airplanes.

I dunno I guess the reason I felt no guilt over shelling out $10 for each booster pack, and even $30 for SF, was because I take an occasional poke and laugh at WoW fanatics who pay monthly just so they can PLAY the game. With the amount of content "added" or "fixed" in each update or patch, you're doing yourself more of a favor buying the so-called expansion/booster packs for BF2.

EDIT: This shows you how often I play the game now:

Agreed - Wake Island on 1942 was more funnerer in a lot of ways. In fact there are some features you had in 1942 in general that when you look at BF2, you have to sit and wonder, "What were you smoking when you decided not to put THAT back in?"

WTB Wake 1942 4 BF2 plz.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I totally agree, but ... there are still some things that are present in 1942 and not in BF2... things that make me go "hmm."

Here's hoping you guys play for at least another two and a half hours, cause I wanna join but I'm stuck at work for the next little while.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Bought 2142. It's okay. BF2 has a much better feel and gameplay and... well, everything.
However, one good thing 2142 has going for it is that it seems to strain the graphics processor LESS than BF2. At least, it seems that way to me...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
