Oh cool, I didn't know SciFi would be airing an encore of the pilot as well. Will they be showing the whole series like that? I ALWAYS forget to watch TV shows on time, so it'd be nice to have two chances each week.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The 4400 and Heroes are pretty different though. The entire point of The 4400 is that people from the future captured people and sent them back with new abilities in order to change the course of history.

In Heroes only Hiro can control space/time and not always very well (yet). I think they'll put a limit on his power later on as well, since it's not only extremely powerful but also appeared to hurt him at first when his eyes went bloodshot making that desk clock move. He seems to have had no problem since then, but time manipulation and long-range teleportation need limitations to prevent him from becoming omnipotent.

About Claire:
Who pulled the stick out of Claire's brain? One would assume it was the coroner, but she was alone in that room when she woke up a few seconds later.

Bar Guy:

It's interesting that you point out the bar guy's necklace. Isn't that the same pattern that was in the code on Muhinder's father's computer?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Spoiler:
I think most things are better than watching Mutant X.

XD Oh yeah, and that "mysterious" black guy in the bar was just one of Syler's henchmen probably (with powers of course). DL is a Hero.
Spoiler:
That's a pretty good point, actually. I wondered why a coroner would be opening up her chest like that when she had a head injury, but just thought more on who pulled the stick out. Best answer I've heard so far (Rockgamer/SILBER-3 I think said it) was that her regeneration eventually managed to push it out. Still seems weird that they left with her chest left wide open though.

Spoiler:
I have to disagree with your disappointment in Hiro and Claire. I laughed pretty hard when Hiro's friend (Ando I think?) used Peter Parker as an example of why he should cheat to get money. I was only disappointed that they started using it to play cards by switching hands with other players. There were so many games to play without making it obvious there was cheating going on, yet they went for the poker tables. Hiro could have at least just stopped time to look at the cards in the deck before they were dealt.

I think Claire's actions were for the best as well. No, it wasn't really a hero thing to do despite what scum that guy was, but it showed that she isn't just going to hide pain and do nothing except cry about it. She takes action, and crashing that car will likely stay with her as a reminder not to act so rashly in the future.

Niki's ability is a bit disappointing so far, but there could be more to it depending on the severity of the situation. Beating up a single guard in an elevator isn't really the same as two armed hitmen who were already attacking her. The interesting part was that her alter-ego has its own identity, knows all about Niki, and cares about Niki and her son.

Peter's ability is a very nice surprise though. I was thinking he had a connection to his brother so their flight only worked when they were close to each other, but his power mimicry/absorption is pretty nifty.

Haha, how many entries does Hiro's blog have? I usually never bother looking at the character blogs and other extras shows put up on the web, but that entry gets an insane amount of props for all of the Chrono Trigger references.

I'm not sure that it's really an anger-triggered thing though. We've already seen her black out at least once without any sort of provocation when she was driving to pick up her son.

Eh? I just looked (since a friend watched it on NBC.com a few hours ago and had no problem) and part 5 is up and working. You shouldn't have any problem with it.

Spoiler:
I think her brain may be her weakness. Not by regular injury obviously, but she died temporarily as long as that stick was lodged in her brain, yet having a metal pipe jammed through her throat was no problem. That rules out impaling alone being the issue. Since Syler cuts open the skull and devours the brain he might actually be able to kill her.

I was thinking that Peter would be the key to beating Sylar as well, but in a different way. It remains to be seen if Peter can use more than one power at a time since it seems to be done through proximity. It's possible (although probably too overpowered to be likely) that once he's surrounded by everyone he might be able to channel whatever powers he wants from the other heroes. With Claire's invulnerability, Niki's strength, and D.L.'s phasing he would put up a pretty good fight against Sylar.

I noticed that too. It seemed like the only hint that the hospital staff even noticed was when she was first wheeled in and the paramedic was confused as to why she was no longer choking on blood. You'd think that her being up and walking around with no wounds at all would cause a pretty big commotion.

The neighbor was with Mohinder during the discovery, so that's a perfect explanation right there. She knew all about Mohinder's father and Mr. Suresh was directly responsible for Syler's self-realization. If she's Syler, then she needs Mohinder to help her find the other heroes for her own benefit.

Call me crazy, but this seems very, very plausible.
Spoiler:
Didn't Mohinder's father refer to Sylar as a "he" in the recording? I could swear there was something like that which made me discount that very theory.

Her character seems like someone who's either going to turn out to be Sylar or be killed by him. I find her slightly annoying, so either one of those would be good news for me. She would instantly be redeemed for being a little annoying if she turned out to be Sylar.

Sylar:
Spoiler:
Why can't (one of) his ability(-ies) be shapechanging/doppleganger? For all we know, he could very well BE Eden, The Unnamed Man, and/or that sort-of Ron-Howard looking fellow that nearly killed the FBI lady then flew away after getting shot. I'm surprised I haven't seen that suggestion pop up already in here - I mean, it's a show about superheroes. Why can't Sylar be Mystique in addition to whatever other power(s) he has? We've already got Kitty Pryde and Wolverine sans claws.
I think that from here on out we should refer to Sylar as Ron Howard until proven wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt.

3) I'm guessing the radioactive guy is the nuke that goes off in New York. Maybe someone pisses him off or makes him go beserk. That or they do something to him that sets him off.

Edit: Also lol @ Hiro getting a blonde girl in preview.
Spoiler:
1) I think Micah's power has to do with either electricity or technology. It's most likely electrical though since all he had to do was touch the outside of the phone to fix its signal.

3) That line about how he could "explode like an atomic bomb" was a bit too obvious. I'm thinking that it's probably just a red herring for the audience rather than the actual cause. It IS spiffy that he's radioactive rather than just a pyrokinetic.

Nikki's power:
I had the same thought about Nikki's power, Crash. If she really can channel dead spirits, at least ones she has a bond with that makes her a MUCH more interesting character. If you're right about her sharing the same father as the Petrelli brothers then that may even be how they discover it. Channeling an angry, drunken man would certainly be more amusing than her super strong twin sister.

Yeah, poor Hiro. All excited and stuff. I'm trying to figure out why they didn't get in trouble, though - all the security people were suspicious, and he would have been seen as moving really fast, but not invisible. Plus Ando was just standing there; surely surveillance cameras caught him? Oh well.
That was my question too. They should have walked outside of the museum and then stopped/slowed time. It's rather obvious who took the sword when Ando is still standing there, and Hiro would go from standing there to a blur after the sword is missing. A security guard eyed them both staring at the sword too, if I remember correctly.

I assumed Ando simply knocked out a security guard and stole his uniform, since it obviously would have been impossible to get a job like that on such short notice. He said he'd been following Hiro all that time, and Hiro's already been shown to be clumsy with alarms. This way Ando also proved himself capable of being Hiro's partner despite his lack of powers. It did seem a little sudden, but not unlikely enough to be called divine intervention.

I don't think he was ever impaled, just held up by Sylar's telekinetic power. I think he's powerless and all that "Are you on the list?" stuff with Mohinder was just a red herring.

Spectacular episode tonight. I was about to say that it was too lacking in Hiro action, but I'm sure we'll get plenty of that next week in THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!

You know, it's really annoying how they seem to put all this important information in the online comic. Wireless has appeared, what, twice in the show? Neither time even being given a name or much of a hint to her power. What did she do to stop the rigging of the election?

I was guessing that he recruited Micah to keep Bennet, Parkman, and Sprague from being able to destroy the tracking system. Then again, that raises the question as to why they haven't moved something that important out of NYC to avoid the explosion.

It took me a while, but I had just made a connection: Bennet spoke of the "Walker Tracking System". That would be the girl, Molly. He recruited Mohinder to 'fix' her, and now she'll be able to tell Star Trek guy [Primatech paper guy, he reminds me of someone from ST, and I don't know his name] where ANY of them are.
That guy is actually famous for his role as a villain called The Master in the old Doctor Who. Well, famous among fans of the show at least. Doctor Who fans were pretty happy seeing him and Christopher Eccleston (Claude) together since he played the ninth Doctor that revived the series a few years ago.

Quote:
He'll not only use her to find Sylar, but probably Claire, Bennet, and the others too. Damn. And I'm sure Bennet doesn't know that the 'tracking system' is a little girl... What's he gonna do to 'take it out'? Shit's gonna hit the fan, and soon.
I don't think it'll be all that dramatic when they discover the tracking system is a little girl. At least not in the sense of whether or not they plan to kill her. Wasn't she one of the people Future Bennet said he'd placed in his protection program?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure that he did that to keep the government off his back, but he was also hiding others from the government too. There's no way Future Hiro would've turned people over to Bennet if they were just being given to the government.

Yeah, the people Future Hiro gave to Bennet obviously didn't last long, but the point is that Molly was still alive at least for awhile after the explosion, and Bennet knew her ability. So we already know that Bennet and Parkman won't kill her just because she can be used as a tracking system.

Not much else to add that Crash didn't already, except one thing about Sylar.

Spoiler:
The manhole beside Sylar didn't look like it had been moved enough for him to have crawled through it, and even if he managed that there's no way he had enough strength to climb down. I'm wondering if there was more to the melting guy's ability that Sylar stole. We haven't seen him use it since then, and it's plausible that he could have slowly liquified himself as he got to the manhole. Once down there he could have figured out how to re-solidify. So little time was spent on that ability, unlike his super hearing acquired around the same time, that we don't know if it can be used like that.

I'm a little doubtful that he could have escaped at all though. It seemed to suggest it, but there were too many people there who would have noticed the disappearance of Sylar's body.

Spoiler:
Actually, I was a little flumoxed by Peter's explosion. If it was an atomic explosion equivalent to a nuclear bomb (and Sprague's radiation would indicate that), wouldn't exploding over New York City shower the populace with fallout? Also, if you look directly at a nuclear blast, can't it burn out your retinas the same as looking at the sun for too long?
Spoiler:
I thought if it was detonated up high enough then EMP was the only real danger. I had the same thought as Aardark on that. If nothing else, perhaps Sprague's radiation is a bit different since no one on the outskirts of the explosion in "5 Years Later" seemed mutated or sick. That would've been plenty of time to see the full effects if it had caused any birth defects and such.

As for retina burning, shouldn't it have blinded Hiro and some of those feudal soldiers to stare directly at the eclipse too? Maybe "special" people all have ultra-durable eyes.
