Please, please don't buy Final Fantasy I/II unless you can get them for $5 each. There's no way the updated graphics are worth it when you can get Dawn of Souls for much less than the price of one of those.
As for game recommendations, you should definitely pick up Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Not only is the main game fantastic, but you can easily unlock Symphony of the Night and the original 2D version as well. If you like Megaman games then Megaman: Powered Up (remake of MM1) and Megaman: Maverick Hunter X (remake of MMX1) are both very good remakes with some nifty extras like playing as all the MM1 bosses and Vile. I'll also second Sousuke's Brave Story recommendation. It managed to be a pretty fun game despite how generic it felt. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
It's part of the coding in the game, sadly. The slowdown was much, much worse in the original Japanese release, but they managed to fix it somewhat. You get used to it after awhile.
