Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I didn't expect to be buying any new games until after my birthday in a few weeks, but I had to pick up Puzzle Quest today. Zoo Keeper was the game that got me hooked enough to buy a DS in the first place, so an RPG using Bejeweled as a battle system was impossible to pass up. I've only played through the first couple of quests so far, but it's exactly what I expected. The only downside is the lack of wi-fi.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I picked up God of War II and Lunar Knights on Friday, and I'm loving both. I never got around to playing the first God of War, but this is about what I expected. Battles are fun, the platforming is fun, and my only real complaint is the way it sometimes makes you think you're supposed to do some puzzle that's actually impossible until later. The over-the-top fights are great though, especially Perseus.
I have the first Boktai game, but never played much of it since the UV-protection windows in my house kept the sensor from working above a single bar. Lunar Knights lacks the puzzle elements of Boktai, but it sure is nice not having to drag the bosses all the way back out of the castle at half speed to finish them off! Lots of fun, but I wish the inventory was bigger than one screen for the amount of items you end up carrying. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I never got around to mentioning it, but last Thursday I picked up Cooking Mama: Cook Off and Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales. Cooking Mama's controls are a bit sketchy at times, but it's still pretty fun. The multi-player is definitely the best part, since you can both laugh when the stirring fails to work or the other person forgets to actually turn on the oven.
I haven't played too much of Chocobo's Tales yet, but it's been fun so far. Fun mini-games and cute chocobos was all I expected from it, and it's delivered on those fronts. The remixed music is pretty spiffy too, particularly the mountain theme from Chocobo Racing. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
I broke down and bought Pokemon Pearl today at Circuit City. It was only $28 this week and I haven't played a Pokemon game since Gold, so why not? I'm only up to Jubilife City, but it's pretty fun so far. Normal movement is painfully slow so it would be very nice if you ran without holding down the B button all the time, but oh well.

I noticed the other day that Robocod is the only Genesis game sold by my local Roses that has no relation to football or basketball. For those who don't know, Roses is a really terrible Wal-Mart type of store. This one still had a coming soon banner for Starfox 64 up until about 2 years ago.
![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
The first time I saw the banner was right before Starfox Assault came out. For a fleeting moment I thought they were miraculously up to date. Then I saw the part about a rumble pack being included. Top Gun was also placed on the New Movies shelf that day.
Haha, that reminds me of the stack of copies my Wal-Mart has of RISE of the Robots for Genesis. They're all hidden in the underworld area of the game shelves where unwanted games are tossed in along with consoles and other hardware. I've never gotten it price checked, but the stickers still say $60. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

I never saw much point in buying ZoE2 considering it was easy to beat in one rental. It was longer than the first one and a fantastic game, but there just wasn't enough of it. Needed more opportunities to use the teleporting especially.

Hit me up for a game of Castle Crashers sometime, Chaotic. I never had a lot of trouble with it even before the patch, though my games with Omagnus always disconnected after almost exactly one hour every time.
Miles, we should swap codes for fruit. I've got peaches. While I'm posting here I might as well list off my Christmas swag. - LEGO Batman (360) - LEGO Indiana Jones (360) - Fallout 3 - de Blob - Wario Land: Shake It! - Animal Crossing: City Folk (Peaches) - Raving Rabbids TV Party - Chrono Trigger - BANGAI-O Spirits - Kirby Super Star Ultra - The World Ends With You Picked these up during after-Christmas shopping: - Rhapsody - Rune Factory 2 - Warriors Orochi 2 - Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility Nutty bought Penny Arcade Episode 2 and Meteos Wars on my 360 while he was here, so I technically own those now too. I should also be getting Time Hollow in the mail any day now. Amazon decided to hold it for a week despite saying it was going to ship last week, but it could've arrived in my mailbox today. I didn't really feel like going out to check again in flash flood weather, though. Oh, and I decided to stop being lazy and registered all my stuff for Club Nintendo and came out with more than enough points for the Game & Watch Collection, so that should come sometime soon. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
