Okay, I've scrolled through several pages of this thread and I can't seem to find an answer already posted to this. Is there a date set for new DS Lite colors to be released in the US? I'd really like to get navy or really any color other than white. I've got until next June before my Best Buy plan runs out, but the Lite is so very tempting right now.
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a nifty RPG that took me around 20 hours to complete. It's pretty fun, and has the same great humor as Superstar Saga if you played that on the GBA.
Trauma Center would last you a long time as well. It's got plenty of levels, and the entire game is incredibly difficult. There's a real sense of accomplishment when you complete some of the surgeries, since you'll often want to drive the stylus through your screen out of frustration. Despite the difficulty though, it's still very fun. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Score, FINALLY I can trade in my old DS for a spiffy Onyx Lite. I've been so tempted by the DS Lite, but I really hated the white color.

Yeah, my blue DS has been really durable too although I haven't tested it much of course. I'm extremely paranoid about this sort of thing, and this is the first portable system that I feel just fine about sticking in my bookbag or pocket for the day since there's no worries about it being damaged. The only problem I've had is that my screen is kinda weird. It has a grid of dots on it that can be seen if you play in direct sunlight or fluorescent lights sometimes, but other DSs I've played don't have that.

By complete chance, I've stumbled upon a possible solution for you Rakka.

Since when do black cars show more dirt? I lived on a dirt road for several years, and our white car basically turned tan colored within a day or two while our black car barely showed anything. That's pretty much the same reason I don't want a white DS Lite. Dreamcast controllers show grime a heck of a lot easier than PS2 controllers.

Um... What? For one thing, you can't compare the back end of a car to the hood of another for dirt collection. That black car's hood looks more like it's been driven around near a beach too, so of course it's going to look filthy. That "scratch" is bright because it looks like someone's keyed that car. Why on earth would you have a scratch that deep in your DS Lite?
Also, you fully admit that a Dreamcast controller looks grimier than a PS2 controller over time. How easy it is to clean a Dreamcast controller is irrelevant.
I don't really want a black or white DS Lite to be honest. A white DS Lite will look dirty after awhile, and a black DS Lite would look too much like a PSP. I'm hoping Nintendo releases a shade of blue sometime around Christmas or right after. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |

Actually, I'll be getting a DS Lite for brightness and weight since I've had a regular blue DS for about a year and a half now. It's really just a matter of opinion in the end though. I prefer the area around the controls to not have a dirty look, and other people prefer not to have the outside coated in very visible fingerprints.
I don't recall making a "huge fuss" out of anything. This all started because you said black shows more dirt than white. The only thing I'm trying to decide on is if I want to get a black DS Lite or wait to see what other colors are brought over.

FF III is slated for Nov. 14, and Children of Mana is Oct. 30 according to EB's site. Hopefully those won't get delayed until January like several other DS games were.

At the moment Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is slated for a Dec. 5 release. It was mid-November not long ago though, so we can only hope that it won't be delayed again. Somehow I'd missed Kirby Squeak Squad though... Man, I need to find some more old gameboy cases for all of these new DS titles.

Don't forget about "Phoenix Wright: Justice For All!" coming out early next year. Creepy Puppet Man wants to talk about it, don't you?

Yeah, currently The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is slated for a March 2007 release. It's done in the same style as Wind Waker, and is supposed to be a direct sequel I believe.
I'd love to see a Final Fantasy Tactics DS if it was more like the original. Tactics Advance was a lot of fun, but after awhile the lack of story just bored me too much. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
I'm hoping that the ice blue color is released stateside before I need a new DS. The main turnoff when I first bought a Lite was trading in the nice blue color for black, and I'm a bit surprised they haven't bothered to bring over the rest of the colors considering how well it's selling.
That red and black DS is pretty spiffy-looking if they ever sell it outside of a package, though. FELIPE NO ![]() |
Puzzle Quest is well worth your money if you liked Bejeweled/Zoo Keeper. Basically it's just like those except dealing damage when you connect skulls and gaining mana to cast spells by connecting the colored circles. The storyline is extremely basic, but the gameplay is very addictive.
As for Advance Wars DS, you probably wouldn't like it if you didn't like the other two. DS adds in some new units and the ability to alternate between 2 COs at once. When both of their power meters are completely full you can do a Dual Strike and take two turns at the same time (and use both their Super Powers). Also some battles feature a battlefield on both screens, but most of those the top screen is CPU controlled and you just send units up to it from the bottom. There's a simplistic Combat mode too, where you drive a unit around and fire with the stylus. It's not much, but I enjoy it. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
