I usually follow the lead of whoever's house it is that I'm visiting.
At my place I prefer it if people take their shoes off at the entrance. My apartment has a linoleum entryway, and that's much easier to clean than if they track crap all over my carpet. I don't like to sound come off as a neat freak though, so I generally don't say anything unless someone starts to put their feet up on the furniture while still wearing their shoes. A dirty floor I can live with, but I don't want leaf bits and who knows what else all over my couch. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
