If you have an xbox 360, or would consider getting one, you can stream videos to it using Windows Media Centre Edition, which lets you watch your anime/porn/whatever on the TV.
That's the only real advantage to it that I know of. Jam it back in, in the dark.

If they ever introduce some kind of a facility for playing DivX/XviD direct from the xbox 360, then I'd rather that it was via the DVD drive than the hard drive. Not that they ever will, because DivX is the warez format of choice... There's nowhere I can't reach.
