Is EV training pokemon really disliked around here?
|
Why would it be? There are a lot of standard clauses that are usually invoked for competitive battles, but they usually involve restricting certain species of Pokemon or certain moves. It's always good to train your Pokemon as well as you can.
In fact, before D/P brought online battling to the mainstream Pokemon fandom, people used to simulate battles online using NetBattle, and it was standard in those days to have the precise IVs and EV spread that would best suit your team.
If someone is complaining because of EV training, they are just being a sore loser. EV training is a pain in the ass, but it is a completely fair tactic. If someone doesn't have the time to EV train, then I suggest they either use NetBattle or possibly hack the desired EV spread on their Pokemon using an AR. As long as nothing else is changed, it's completely fair.
I just thought I should add that I
do not actually hack EVs (or anything else) for competitive play.
