That borders on ridiculous. Indiana Jones movies were different from Star Wars anyway, why on earth would they be "the same kind of fun", much less need be?

It seems like this game has been greenlighted on the basis of the sales performance of the two Lego Star Wars titles, which is why I make the comparison. It's not like I'm the only one making the comparison between the two concepts.

It wasn't the large amount of characters that made it great. It probably added much of the replay value, but to tag the quality of the experience only on that? Tsk.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. In Lego Star Wars, you'd have a different set of characters for each level, in Story Mode, so it wasn't only for replay value that the size of the cast came into play. The characters were divided up into groups with different abilities, which helped introduce some variation into the game. It was common enough to play as several different characters in the course of a single level.
I'm sure this game will be fun for hardcore Indiana Jones fans, but I think it's a mistake to assume that the success of Lego Star Wars implies a similar kind of success for Lego Indiana Jones. It just seems to me that Star Wars is inherently suited to Lego, and to gaming in a way that Indiana Jones is not. The whole sci-fil milieu lends itself well to a lot of fun platform game mechanics.
There's nowhere I can't reach.
