You've experienced some data corruption as a result of the BSOD, but I don't think that it's necessarily a dead drive yet. If you reinstall, it might be just fine.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Oh yeah the actual problem, I forgot about that...

NTLDR is simply the bootloader. If that's missing, nothing else will work. If you have a complete OS installation, but delete NTLDR, it will freeze exactly as yours has done. I'm pretty sure that if you put a real Windows XP disk in the drive instead of that rip-off recovery CD they gave you, you'd be able to repair your installation easily. I've done it before.

Do you have access to a real Windows XP CD? Can you borrow one?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I assume if the BIOS can't pick up the Hard Drive, it's officially dead.
There is always a slim chance that some bizarre fault occurred which isn't related to the drive... but your odds are not good. The balance of probability is that the drive was dying, and is now dead.

How old is this tablet? If it's still under warranty, then you only have to worry about your data. If it's out of warranty, you also have to worry about your hardware. If it's a standard laptop drive, you might be able to do a home repair.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
