You do realise that any given pack of Verbatim you buy might be using one of three or four different dye formulations, don't you? The same goes for any big-name brand of discs, which is why it's possible for them to vary so much from one pack to another. They just don't make their own dyes.
I buy from a store that sells discs by the dye formulation, so I can be guaranteed of getting the same every time. It's a lot more expensive, but it's the only way to guarantee that you won't get any horrible CMC Mag crap. Use DVD identifier to find out what kind of discs you have there, if you're curious.
