You do realise that any given pack of Verbatim you buy might be using one of three or four different dye formulations, don't you? The same goes for any big-name brand of discs, which is why it's possible for them to vary so much from one pack to another. They just don't make their own dyes.
I buy from a store that sells discs by the dye formulation, so I can be guaranteed of getting the same every time. It's a lot more expensive, but it's the only way to guarantee that you won't get any horrible CMC Mag crap.
