What kind of files are we talking about here? If they are AVI or MKV files, I strongly recommend you use CCCP or VLC instead of RealPlayer. However, if you could tell us what format the files are, that might help.

Like Snowknight said, Real Alternative does work pretty well by all accounts. You can install it on top of CCCP for a complete playback solution. There's nowhere I can't reach.
