I'm impressed with the sheer audacity of the project, and from an engineering and logistics point of view it's pretty exciting... but then it also doesn't seem very practical. I like it better as an idea than in practice for now, but I can imagine the day when this is a part of the world as we know it. Mind you, I can imagine a lot of things, not all of which will ever happen. For example, the first thing that comes to mind is a futuristic spacefaring version of this idea... in a century or five. I guess I read way too much sci-fi as a kid.
