Agreed on that. Takahashi's work is patchy at best, other than MI and UY. Those two series are sublime, Ranma has moments of genius, and Inuyasha? I don't hate it.
I've seen quite a few episodes of the anime, although not quite the whole thing, and I really don't think it's either that great or that bad. What I'd like to see is for Takahashi to finally finish the damn manga (which she recently said is still a way off) and then start a new anime, whether it be OVA or TV from the beginning, the same way that Ah! My Goddess! has just been restarted.
Acer is quite right when he states that Takahashi has a problem with endings, most of the time. The old anime needs to be nuked, because of the huge amounts of filler, and even the later manga chapters could do with being tightened up, from what I'm told.
I'd like to see a good version of Inuyasha one day, but it won't be until the manga is complete.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
