Galactic Pinball and Brandish 2 nearly got points.

While I can be rather fond of Chinese music, I've always had trouble appreciating the tunes from Jade Empire, for reasons some might find irrational. "Dawn Star Theme" is one of the better tracks I can recall. But even then, it doesn't quite click with me nor make sense at times. To me, at least.

Despite the use of oriental instruments and some musical elements, I keep getting bugged by how it doesn't seem very Chinese to me. More so since the setting of the game is oriental.

Several parts sound more like they should be in a game set in the West than in the Middle Kingdom. It's almost as if the Chinese instruments were put in as an after thought. They could be easily replaced by Western instruments and I would probably have enjoyed the track much more if that had been the case.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
