O-kay. Will give this a shot. I don't remember how well all my nominations did and I never did keep track. :P
First SoTW (voting): Week 1 First SoTW (nominating): Week 2 First placing: Dune Spice Opera - Exxos - Wake Up (Week 13) First gold: Dune Spice Opera - Exxos - Wake Up (Week 13) This still remains one of my favourite SotW nominations (and oddly enough, my first nomination ever to place). I was very surprised "Wake Up" won considering how it veers from mainstream sensibilities so much and has a high dose of new age moodiness about it. But then again, my track record isn't that great (I think) so maybe "Wake Up" was a fluke. Length between first nomination and first gold: 12 Weeks Other awards: Songs of the Weak (aka 8th place finishers) Like my famous RIVEN - The Sountrack - Gehn's Theme (Week 36) and Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura Soundtrack - Arcanum (Week 30). I'm sure everyone was too modest to admit how much they liked the songs. ![]() Biggest disappointment: The Sword of Xuan Yuan 4 - Boss F (Week 2) Admittedly, I was rather upset when my first nomination and one of my favourite pieces of VGM got trashed rather badly for being too chaotic and incoherent. But hey, I loved it, so I guess that's what matters most. ![]() Biggest fluke win: Princess Banenn (Game Rip) - Music 04 (Week 61) I never expected this to win at all. In fact I thought it would end up being a Song of the Weak. Vocals in unknown language (some would say Japanese :P) + sparse instrumentation + melancholic overtones = INSTANT LOSE (usually). But somehow "Music 04" came in first. I attribute this to the very poor participation in Week 61. I remember how some regulars (e.g. Crash, I think) were fuming that their songs lost to "Music 04", perhaps justly so. Admittedly, I believe all my winning songs (Four, I think? The other two being an Anarchy Online track and a controversial Shadow of the Colossus piece) have been bashed during Battle Weeks so perhaps the few wins I've had have all been flukes. :P I'll add more stuff if I have the time. Jam it back in, in the dark.
I think therefore I am... I think.
