I assume Solid Snake fights inside the box the whole time.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The Nintendogs puppy reminds me of those blind matches I used to do at home. Me and my cousin would play, and my bro would watch and randomly shout out "BLIND MATCH" and turn off the TV screen. Hilariousness ensued.

Final Fantasy originally appeared on NES :lolsign:

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, that's what I thought just now. Oops.

Okay, just saw the trailer. The expression on Mario's face when he was being boiled SCARED ME TO THE WIT POINT.

How ya doing, buddy?

HOLD ON WHAT

EDIT: Oh, they have the MP3 up. To be honest, I prefer the intro music from SSBM.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

http://www.smashbros.com/en/story/index.html

It's the Weekly Famitsu Column "Masahiro Sakurai's Thoughts About Games"
Reproduced with permission from volumes 130`vol.132. Very interesting read.

Also, I don't think Uematsu is doing the soundtrack to the whole game.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Where did all this Crash/Jak & Daxter/Ratchet & Clank hate come from

Granted, I would definitely NOT want to see them in this, but I like their games

Okay, this has been bugging me for quite some time.

So, development would not be occurring at Hal Labs. But, the code and development environment of Super Smash Bros. Melee, which I had developed in the past, was offered. Having this versus not having this means the efficiency of the development changes dramatically, so I'm thankful.

But we still didn't have enough people. To create a game like Super Smash Bros. Melee, I would want a team with a minimum of 50 people. Getting together that many people would be a back-breaking task.

So it was that Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto introduced me to a "particular team" that had just completed a large-scale game.

Until the day comes when I can announce the team's name, I shall simply refer to them as "The Studio."

"Let's do it. Let's definitely do it!"
The words of The Studio's executive were very simple.

I was surprised when I saw the GameCube controllers they were using. The coating on the analog stick was worn down like an old eraser...
"Our guys have played Smash Bros. more than 10,000 times!"

It had to be a lie.
But when I saw their battle records, it showed a terrible number of matches that were not fabricated.

This was the result of years of uninterrupted playing of Smash Bros. during lunch breaks. There are often cases where your team doesn't understand the content of the game you're making, but that wouldn't be a concern this time.

It was promising.
This had to have been fate.
So, with the members of The Studio as our core, we dramatically increased our staff members.
So... what is this "The Studio?"

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I wanted details, sorry for not being clear (although you could've answered the first part as well).

So it's a branch of EAD? That's... pretty anticlimatic, actually. I was most interested in figuring out who "The Studio" was because of that big project they supposedly finished.

Honestly.... I never saw too much of a problem with clones. Oftentimes, the feel of the characters were dramatically different enough to call them different.

Okay, speaking of the halberd stage, if you see in the trailer, as it flies away and you're fighting on the platform, you can see it shaking violently as iff the camera was rumbling, yet the platform stays still. Am I the only one that finds that a bit odd? Granted, it looks better for gameplay, but aesthetically it looks like the platform just has a huge screen behind it displaying a movie of the Halberd. Mabye I just suck at observation, I don't know.

???

Can you show me a screenshot, or point me to a point in time in the trailer where the stage doesn't look like it could be played on a single plane?

I'm 98% positive that the playing fields will be single plane only just like they've always been.

I don't see how it would be difficult to have the platform shake a bit, but I don't know. When Mario uses his super attack, the whole area shakes up. Ehh... whatever.

Also, her gun transforms and can be used as a whip. Of the two, one might consider the whip to be her main weapon.

And don't worry—you'll still be able to play as standard Samus, too.

I read the whole topic on Smashboards (Please... don't link there ever again) and here is what SamuraiPanda got out of the same message from Sakurai:

And to literally translate the last sentence (keep in mind this is in reference to the characters from other companies): "Anyways, at most we'll add another 1-2 characters, maybe?"

Sakurai said it as a question, so it could still change. But at least we have a ballpark of how many non-Nintendo chars will be added.
Breath easy.

Captain Falcon's running speed is the fastest in the game. His force falling speed is also the fastest, BARELY beating Falco, I believe.

However, his attacks have slightly more lag than average, which gives him his clunky feel.

There is no such radio show called "The Gaming Show" or "The Gaming Exchange".

I am 99.99% sure this is started from some stupid people trying to start something. EVERY SINGLE SOURCE is traced back to this French site. It's pretty much a dead end from there.

While I'm not saying that the aformentioned characters will get in or axed, I'm saying that Sakurai never confirmed ANYTHING. This rumor isn't even a rumor, just a joke that did amazingly well.
