For me it's because I collect figures. For everyone else it's because they took away the DVD content access and art book, so the figure is all we've got left.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's not that at all. I spent an extra $10 for the CE version, so I want $10 worth of extras. I'd buy the game either way, what we're upset over is what they deem worthy of $10, especially when the US clearly gets more for that same $10.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I second SCHNEE-2's post. Especially since I hear that the BIG secret about the game is revealed right when you start the game pratically. Hence why I'm even weary of checking out reviews before I get the game myself.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Because there are clocks posted by other reviewers (ie. OXM). The game clocks an average of 20hrs for the straight storyline, and around 40hrs for main + side missions.

Well comparing Assassin's Creed to Halo 3 and CoD4 is like trying to compare beauty queens to weightlifters. They're not the same, and therefore shouldn't be gtouped together.

However a 9.1 is nothing to scoff at. And the point of the game is to be creative. If you think it's a "rinse and repeat action" then perhaps you need to experiment more? I don't know for I haven't played it yet, but I'm sure there's more to the game then what you're aware of if that's how you feel.

Well it's longer then a lot of games these days.

Halo 3 (4hrs)
CoD4 (5hrs)
Gears (8hrs)
Heavenly Sword (7hrs)
etc...

Also AC could still end up as game of the year. However I think that games like Mass Effect, SMG, CoD4 are all more likely to take GOTY over Halo 3 AND AC.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

@Iwata
You missed the point, and even with your revised clock of 7-8 hours (which I still beat it in less) my point still remains that the game is short in comparison to AC which is all I was trying to say. I don't really care about the FPS genre much outside of a few select games therefore my need for accuracy when commenting the Halo 3 clock most certainly was not at a high. As for HS, I dove right into the hardest difficulty, extending the clock perhaps?

But on topic, I don't really see how people can consider a 7 bad. It just means that perhaps the reviewer isn't going to play it again any time soon. Doesn't mean that it's not a good game. Also I tend to trust reviews with more grounded averages then something that's got ratings all flying off the radar, for thoes are usually the ones that are rated by their fanboyistic appeal then the actual content(based off my experiance, I simply dispise reviews so forgive me if my view is a bit extreme). i.e. BioShock, while I enjoyed the game I found it's slew of 9s and 10s to be very overrated especially since it just copied what the series did back in SystemShock 2, just not as well. In conclusion for thoes interestede in AC GET IT, for even a rating of 7 doesn't make it bad and perhaps you'll come to a totally different conclusion. Ratings obviously don't mean everything for there are a lot of games with much lower scores that sell sometimes 4x that of a game perhaps rated an 8 on average. And the only way for them to take a second shot at AC, there has to be a show of interest (though I'm sure sales will still be high).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Dude I was playing it on normal. Also I didn't even care to really clock it because I just wanted to get it over with, I really didn't like it. Mostly because your melee is more powerful then your guns so what's the point? Brute = clip & a half of assault rifle rounds or 2 melees, hmmm... wonder which one I'm gonna do?

Therefore my clock was only based on what the game felt like. I'm sure not affraid to admitt that I was wrong, because I really don't care.

Like I said in my last post there it was more to make a point then an argument. Forget about it. It's a battle I have zero desire to argue about.

Well that's the thing. Everyone is in a hurry to get things out the door to pad their yearly figures. Where if you think about it. If a company started game development and worked on a product for 2 years instead of one. Sure your first two years numbers would suck, but if you started new projects each year with a 2 year cycle, you'd probably create a much better wuality product, and therefore a better financial turnaround on the game. And of course every company has their big, multi year projects that they invest a lot into, i.e. Assassin's Creed.

Or at least that's my theory. I'm sure if that would work that more companies would be doing it.

@OmagusPrime
It depends on how much they can vary it, and how fun that repeated mechanic is. Even then it will vary from person to person. What was Bungie's theory? "Create 30seconds of fun gameplay and then repeat thoes 30minutes up till the end of the game". But really if you don't like repetition then your game choices just got cut down to less then 10 games.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think that someone else asked this but does AC have a difficulty select? And if so what are the difficulty?

Well I FINALLY got AC. After Canada getting screwed with a Nov 15th release date and a crappy LE version of the game. Then to top it off, EB only got the 360 LE version of the game and not the PS3 one. I told them "fuck it I just want to play" and got the regular one. Oh wells.

With all my trade ins I also managed to get Kane & Lynch and Umbrella Chronicles, all for only $13.50 after trade-ins. Hoo-Ra!

At least Kilroy had the guts to admitt that he was not impressed with the game due to mistaken identity on what the game was going to be like, istead of trying to justify the game being broken or some obviously statement that's not true like 1UP tried to do. (though the game does have it's flaws, what game doesn't?)

As for the horse bit. Just do what I do, gun it to town and usually by the time you get to town all the guards are so far behind you just jump off the horse and in a bail of hay. Problem solved
